Purpleinopp, eventually the inflorescence elongates and resembles other hostas. It is blooming now in pale violet color, and it is not fragrant at all. I have one hosta blooming very well in white. It is Royal Standard, but I do not recall if it is fragrant. I have a rectification about Iris sibirica Over in Gloryland. Some stems have actually 4 blooms, so it stays here with me. Rouge, Eryngium alpinum is beautiful but it is not particularly long-lived with me(perhaps my climate?). Average lifespan for a clump is about 4 years. But you can let some seedlings grow(it seeds well if allowed). Eryngium Forncett Ultra has been growing for 15 years here and I have 5 giant clumps of it. When moved it will return from the roots. It is beautiful but very prickly(unlike E.alpinum, which is soft to touch) Gottagarden, I have made the Weigela tree out of a cutting taken from my B-I-L's garden. I let the main stem grow to 1 meter and then made a crown. I will make another one when the crown is higher than 1 meter. I'm not sure if it is easy to transform existing BIG bushes into trees, but why not try? Here it is as it looks in November: Here are some more June shots: Peony, bought as Shirley Temple. This one changes colour yearly, usually white with occasional red spot(like Festiva Maxima , her mother). This year opens light pink. My favourite peony, because it did never flop for me Iris White Owl, by far the best white iris for the North, wiped out the whole competition hands down. I googled it and got 1! relevant hit, whithout picture or description. How is it possible? Geranium pratense Summer Skies, the best of the new doubles(the white one with purple eye was a terrible flopper), stands well until the blooming is over. It is light violet with a touch of pink, not exactly a synonym for summer sky here. Geranium pratense Caeruleum Plenum, only a curiosity, as the plant has absolutely no vigor. My old Delphinium (seedling). Pay attention that the florets are shorter than on English ones, which makes them so much better to resist wind damage.

Thank you for all the kind comments. They have been a wonderful way to start my day. It's a raining dreary day here and am cuddling our three year old daughter Gracie. Who is very sick with a cold. Her little nose is so stuffed up that her eyes are running. She is a pitiful sight this morning. I read her each of your sweet comments. She just keep saying "aw,so nice", "aw, sweet" and finally exclaimed " I love pink! It's my favorite" I love sharing the garden with the children. Grace is always going with a fist full of flowers. And tells me several times a day that she loves my pretty flowers. Cindy- yes I do keep candles in the lanterns. Although I haven't lite them yet this year. I have been looking forward to lighting them all and sitting out on a warm evening. But for one reason or another I just haven't gotten to it yet. I found the large 18" lanterns early this spring at a local thrift store for $7!!! Every time some mention them I can't resist tell them what I paid for them. I love a bargain!!! Carrie

Echoing all the other comments here. One thing about your gardens that has been very educational for me is to see how you use things with such great height. I know I tend to think with regards to height, "Six inches in front, then 12 inches behind that, then 18 inches, then 24 inches..." and so on. I had figured out that those rules aren't what creates some of the best gardens, but was still trying to figure out how to break the rules. Your beds full of all those flowers with such wonderful height, even along the edge, is very inspiring. I'll be looking at these pictures all throughout the year so i can absorb your wonderful designing--let's hope it wears off on me! One request. Next time make those pictures nice and big in the post. They are beautiful enough to take up the whole screen!

I really enjoyed the tour through your gardens. I love that you show such complete views as it helps me to visualize how different plants really look together. Yours is done beautifully. I love the yellow achillea and blue salvia together and I would really like to know where you got the Jupiter's Beard...can that be winter sown? I had to check what zone you are in because my cleomes haven't even budded up yet. Your garden is lovely and I hope you share more pictures. Bonny

Love that rattan bench you turned into an herb garden!

Yes, please explain how you made the "tower of pots"...that would be a space saver for plants I have to keep on deck so critters don't eat them.

You're just half a zone warmer in Jersey and it sure makes a difference in bloom times. My Asclepias Tuberosa & Incarnata are still in bud stage and Alyssum are tiny seedlings if they haven't been pounded into ground by rain.

Beautiful plants/blooms...thanks for sharing.

It will stop raining and it will get warmer...it will, it will, it will. :)

OK for those of you who are interested in the tipsy pots, get a 5-6 ft piece of rebar pound it into the ground, take your clay pots, put one pot down fill it with soil, then add your next pot and tip it, fill it with dirt, etc. etc. Very easy!

Nice plants, really like your tower of pots! DH saw the photo and figured it out very quickly. Of course I would of never showed it to him had I not thought it was a clever idea. He suggested using copper pipe if you want to keep it from rusting. We are lucky in that he can pick up scraps of this stuff for free at his work.

Love your herb bed - is that a wicker daybed? Oh my gosh way too cute...I have this old rocking chair out front, it had a padded seat, and I'd like to figure a way to remove that old seat and put a bin with flowers in there. Great photos! :)

Thanks for sharing your garden with us. It is nice to see plants that are in full bloom and growing well. With the rain this past week my gardens are growing quickly and I see buds appearing on many summer perennials. Ws annuals are still very small as I was late sowing.

I like the alyssum and grass combo in your tippy pots.

I love your tipsy pots too! I had intended to do one this year, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. I did a few other things. Love your choice of plants and colors!
