If you are buying from "abroad" - not from the USA - yes you do. You also need an import stamp which you can get free from the government (link attached). Usually, the person selling abroad will do the phyto certificate (which they may charge for) - and you must send your import stamp to them before shipment so they can afix it to the package.

There are many stories of people spending 100's of dollars on a few cuttings - only to have them seized at entry, leaving the buyer (you) wondering where the order went. Or being notified that your cuttings were destroyed at entry because there was no phyto certificate or stamp.

I'm sure some packages do get by. I would talk to the person you are buying from abroad and find out what they do for shipping to the USA.

Plumeria cuttings are Not Ag products. we ship and receive products from out of State all the time, Some States require a cert but anymore that's a slandered method of shipping, almost All orders have a cert with them these days.

Its not difficult at all. Just fill out that the form 587 and mail it in. You get the stamps for import. If you are buying from another country - talk to them. They know how to ship. What country specifically are you buying from?

I dont know the name but i am looking for pink color, yellow color and mix color.

I am searching them on the net , mostly they are expensive..1 cutting almost 20-40$ plus 7-9 $ for shipping.

I dont find in phoenix or around arizona at all..pls share if you know where to buy Plumeria.

You don't say from which country you want to buy from. If you don't know the variety and just want a pink or yellow, then any cutting should do whether from the USA or abroad. There was just a big Plumeria sale at the Southwest Flower Show - there were lots and lots of plumerias.

I think Turtleman sells plumerias in Arizona.

If you can narrow it down to what exactly and from where exactly you want to buy, I can really help you. You'll have to be clearer on what you want.

Oh sorry .Plumeria which I would like to buy are from Bali - Indonesia. They dont sell online , I asked my relative to buy and ship for me.

well, it doesnt matter from where i will get the cutting and it doesnt matter what variety , I just would like plumeria in 4 colors: yellow, pink, white and mix color with reasonable price.

A phyto cert was required to bring plumeria into Arizona from Hawaii. I was told that Arizona is one of the last states still requiring a phyto cert. I can't vouch for the accuracy of that information as I've never researched it, however all the plumeria I've ordered from Hawaii has come with it.

Near as I can tell, a phyto cert is always required when importing from another country. But the shipper usually is the one to obtain it.

The APHIS form is very easy to do. I recommend faxing it in. I received my stickers about three weeks after faxing. There's no cost.

Hi - I think you might be able to get common pink, yellow, white, and light pink from Florida Colors Nursery. They probably have plants that are very reasonable. I purchased common plumerias there when I first started out and they were $6.00 each fully rooted - no names. Google their site and write them. Tell them you are new and they will help you. Tell them you don't want to spend a lot of money and would be happy with common varieties. They ship to AZ.

As for AZ and Hawaii - Arizona is worried about aphids coming into our state. Normally, if you cut your own plumeria cuttings, you'll need to bring them to the Ag station which is located by the airports and have them inspected. Call them first and ask what to do. They'll look them over then let you pack them, so bring a box and tape, and they stamp them as inspected. You can then bring them into AZ.

The link posted is the very MOST you will have to do. If your cuttings are very clean and free of any scale and dirt, the inspectors will inspect them and stamp them okay. HTH

DIASZABO.. you to if you would like. I purchased a potted Plumeria from Lowe's Nursery, at the end of last summer, it is outside under a shade tree...it's not dead but nothing is happening...I'm afraid to give it to much water, don't want to destroy this one too.
I visited Hawaii, last summer, brought cuttings back, some packaged, which I puchased and some from the tree growing outside of the room I was staying in....I did check for diseases and insects...wrapped them and brought them home in my suitcase. I've had friends bring cuttings from their visits to Hawaii, also. Apparently, I'm doing something really wrong...no luck, so far.....I'll keep trying,though

I just purchased some very nice 3-4ft blooming plumeria from a guy selling part of his private collection in north PHX. I paid almost the same price for a tree from him that I would have from Florida Colors for a 1ft cutting. Very pleased. Thank you for sharing azleatherking's email address. We have been wanting to plant Plumeria for a while, after reading your posting, I visited him. I purchased a beautiful Plumeria. It is so nice here in Phoenix we can purchase real Plumeria trees instead of just cuttings.

In addition to Plumeria, he carries tons of different wonderful plants. I will be back this coming week for other plants. He is very knowledgeable, friendly and pleasant, visiting his garden surely is a treat!!
