Hi, I've decided to post more photos of my plants. These are not hoyas but some of my other oddity plants at home. Let me know what you think. water mimosa or touch me not plant, when you touch its leaves, it closes. my goldfish plant. hoya krinkle, new buds just formed, this is about to open soon. can't wait to see the full bloom, will be it's third times in a row this year. snail vine or cork-screw vine, highly perfumed plant. a type of clematis starting with R, can't remember the full name, originated from Japan. Another of my favourite plant, can't remember it's name right now. A carion plant, I think the flower is quite unusual and it lasts for quite some time too. My pitcher plant, can't remember what type of nepenthes this is. Stephanotis floribunda in full bloom next to my hoya kerrii Can't remember the name of this plant, but always blooming each year. Another one of my favourite, a type of ceropegia, this one blooms twice a year for me. A succulent I bought for $5 buck, looks like bear's paw up-close. tacca chantrieri or black bat plant. Just bloomed not fully open yet, another flower bud follows but hasn't bloom. another favourite of mine. Well that's all for now. there are much more, but I'll leave it for next time. Pug, I wonder if your kerrii could be one of the other clones - "hairy kerrii" or the veined clone. Can you give us a closeup of a leaf? I suppose that might make a difference in the color of the sap. I have all three, but hairy kerrii and veined kerrii haven't bloomed for me yet. I think they both will this year because they've both set peduncles. If they do, I can compare flowers... I was whacking away at my kerrii a couple days ago - it's gotten so large and out of control, and I'm selling Hoyas this year (mostly to my cactus club...) to try to supplement our "budget deficit"... Anyway, I found one vine that had three opening peduncles on it, so left that one on for now. They're open now and no signs of any nectar at all yet. I'll have to pay attention and see how long it takes before they produce the nectar. It's not something I ever paid attention to before... Denise in Omaha

The ugly markings that I get on mine, remind me that I seriously sunburned nearly all my plants when I brought them over here... I am mixed about what I think of this. Some of you will remember that I put two rooted plain green cuttings into a self-water pot, BEFORE I read that most of you keep this one significantly dryer. It is receiving less sun than before, but is out in the elements all the time, with wind and wild critters. I am pretty excited as one of my sleeping peduncles (which all this time I thought were air roots!) is developing and I should have a bloom in three or four weeks, if the creek don't rise, and I hold my mouth just so! I tend to do a lot of misting under the tree. I have epies, and mostly hoyas out there. The Epi society recommends daily misting to deal with heat, so I crank up the wand, and spray everything in sight! Two days after I made sure to get the Kerrie, two leaves up and showed black markings, like following veins. I backed off a bit spraying, the marks are still there, but not spreading. I am wondering if the 'orginal' environment does not have something like mountain elevation with lots of sun, and humitidy that could be tough to replicate. In the gallery there are awesome shots of blooming Kerriis... makes me really grumpy that this one is soooo tough to figure out. My v. Kerrii cutting spent the winter nearly dry to the bone, teeny cutting, potted up, behind someone else. Emptying the plant room in Spring, and Surprise! Poor thing. Still alive, still two leaves. No sign of three showing up any time soon. All I can offer is that it is a plant that can get seriously ugly!

Hi Ian, Had you ever changed the earlier mix? That may have been a problem there too. It certainly looks much better, great save. Pardon me, but why would you want to cut this stem? Especially since Pepe says he can see a peduncle on its tip (which I can't see from here). Wouldn't you want to give that a chance to bloom? I know I would. I have found these long, crazy Kerrii stems are pliable when young & can be lightly curled, say around a trellis or wire hoop. Tho' that may cause it to bleed white sap, looks like Elmer's glue. A spray of water will stop the white sap from leaking out further.
