You know, between all the stories of these WSers chasing off critters in their jammies, banging on windows, etc...we should write a book. Most entertaining.

You know, I just posted this morning my left over tom seedlings on freecycle. I have like over 50 seedlings left. (I'll know better next year) So I'm gonna have to sneak a few out before they're picked up to make up for my losses. But what confuses me, is that all my responses want ALL my seedlings. They are all indet. seedlings. Why would someone want over 50 seedlings? I'm wondering if they plan on turning around and selling them. I hope not, I'm still waiting for any response that only wants a few.

I've never seen any "critters in their jammies" in my garden.

LOL!! We had a discussion about it the other day. I said I needed a new bed to put all my ws plants in and he started whinning, you took over the front yard (i did foundation planting) and that back corner (my kids sunflower house), and by the house (the tom bed, which that and the sunflower house will only be here this summer) and the other back corner (where I planted 3 young small lilac shoots) Then he said he wanted his yard back. Which I find really funny, because he never even mowed it until this last time because we baught a rider. We have just under 2 acres of bare (no trees) land. He said I could do what ever I wanted to the side where the walk out is, but that is all sand!

So in retaliation, so to speak, I made a decent sized bed in front and around where the 3 lilac shoots are. He hasn't noticed yet! I think it's too small though, at least looking from the house.

We'll see who wins this fight!!

Up until last year when I started wsing, I bought 50 or more tom seedlings for may garden--I would have jumped at a chance for 50 free ones, esp. if they were different kinds.

Sorry about the birds demolishing the tomato plants. I've never seen that before. The only time I've seen birds picking leaves off plants, was this spring. I have a yellow yarrow plant in my herb garden, the starlings who always build a nest in my neighbor's eves picked the leaves off that plant for the nest. At first I was confused about what they were doing--I watched them come back at least 5 or 6 times for more leaves. I wonder what it is about yellow yarrow that they liked!

really 50? wow, never realized when people plant toms, they really plant toms. I only planted out oh 15 or so. But that's because I didnt realize how big they got!

Yep birds can snatch seedlings.
I planted out the last of my sunflowers yesterday; I mulched the bed and it wasn't 5 minutes later a a beaked thief plucked and flew off with one of them.
That bird if I could of caught it would of been bird soup! ..
(I always threaten my cockateil with that one) LoL she can only say three things, Hello, What and Bird soup
