I wonder if people have complained to the companies themselves, instead of just here on the Forums. If that is the case, they would surely have recieved those letters of complaint already. I called Wayside Gardens and got my issue rectified; I suppose, though, that a group letter with at least fifty names on it would be influential in getting the brokers and suppliers to be alert as to quality control.

That is exactly it, Hopflower... as a group we number quite a few, and our expenditures every season are great. If we had a large number of people united, and we showed exactly the type of revenue they stand to lose with poor quality products and poor attention to those products, they would be more likely to stand up and notice.

Of course most of us have privately taken care of our own individual problems with these companies, but a business letter from a large group will garner the most attention. We have no intention of being nasty or unprofessional; we just feel that a group letter letting them know that the job they're doing could use improvement is not only justified, but will help make improvements for the future a reality.

Right. I understand you will be writing a professional letter outlining the various problems with substandard bulbs.

I am afraid the only one I can honestly address is the one that I posted not long ago: that of the bulb mislabeled as San Remo. The rest of my orders have been quite correct and fulfilled with quality bulbs.

If that is enough, I will gladly sign to it.

I've been very fortunate, as well... and the couple of mislabels I've gotten have actually been bulbs I've wanted! Go figure!

As I look back through some of the posts, it seems that there have been a lot of complaints about mislabels and rotten bulbs... One thing I will say, though, is that Customer Service with most of the companies seems to be very good... and judging by my own experiences and those written about here in the forum, most of the problems were addressed promptly and to the satisfaction of the buyers.

Still, if anyone is interested in giving me statistics, I'll be happy to add the information to the totals collected.

I, for one, feel that a letter addressing the current problems experienced by the bulb buyers may just be the eye opener needed to raise the bar, so to speak... if I can't get totals one way, I'll research and get them through past posts... either way, I feel it's important as customers to step up and speak out, thus keeping quality high with the sellers and growers.

Well.....since all my bulbs this year were purchased from discount/big box places (Lowes, HD, Walmart), I don't really have as much cause to complain as many others. However, the problem is still quite annoying!

I'll make a list this weekend. I've gotta go look at the bulbs in order to remember them!
