Grade 1 1/2?
Comments (8)reg_pnw7 is right. Rose Grades are not determined by how many years the bush has grown before harvest. Budded roses are grown two years in the field, max. These growers depend on turnover to make money. The faster they can turnover a crop the more they make. The following information pertaining to rose grades has been taken from the American Association of Nurserymen publication "American Standard for Nursery Stock". This is the commonly accepted standards used industry-wide in North America. Hybrid Tea, Grandiflora, Floribunda, Rugosa, Hybrid Perpetuals, Moss and Climbing Roses Grade #1 At least 3 strong canes 5/16" (.8cm) in caliper and up, branched not higher than 3 inches from the bud union. Grade #1 ½ At least 2 strong canes 5/16" (.8cm) in caliper and up, branched not higher than 3 inches from the bud union. Other standards apply to shrub roses and miniatures. Quite often grade 1 1/2 roses are used for potted roses. Edmund's wholesale bushes were all grade 1 1/2. J&P ships grade 1 1/2 to nurseries for their potted roses. The big growers who pot up and sell to the big box stores use grade 1 1/2. These roses are considerably less expensive than grade ones and the resulting bush is almost indistinguishable from a grade one. The average buyer just looks at the flowers and possibly the name of the rose when purchasing. Lots of grade 1 1/2 roses have three or more canes. They don't meet the caliper standards for grade 1, but produce nice sized bushes....See More1' 1/2 clearance between pocket door and finished floor
Comments (2)Were the doors ("Converging Door Kit" according to Johnson) installed after the floor was in? Then the header should have been lowered 3/4" per instructions. Don't think you're going to make that up by adjusting the hangers. You can try - might have to remove some trim on the clip side to be able to access it. Just turn the bolt on each hanger until the door is the height you want and hangs level. Might be a little trickier with converging doors. Most likely you'll run into the problem we had where the bolts are too short to adjust that much (out builder put frame 1" off subfloor since they were "cut for carpet" and we have tile, he didn't listen when I told him the finished flooring would be 1" thick). They kept falling out of the rollers since we only had a few threads screwed in. Jhonson doesn't sell long bolts and the heads are special. Brickeye suggested getting threaded coupler and having threaded rod cut to extend the existing bolts. The size is 1/4-20, I had Ace cut 1" long extensions and round off the burrs for me. You'll probably have to add trim to hide the hardware and new gap at the top of the door, just as you would to hide the track on a bifold door. If the doors are painted it might be easier to add a filler piece of 1x material on the bottoms, sand flush to the faces, and repaint the doors. My doors are stain grade. Comments (12)I like the looks of the 1.25" knobs but since my doors on my kitchen do not have knobs I have no idea which would be better for opening doors. I plan to put knobs on new kitchen doors and then I will have the same decision to make but you wanted my opinion and this is the best I can do which looks better. Let us know what you decide and please post finished pictures. What paint color are you painting the cabinets? I am assuming this since there are two painted boards and I would love to know since I am still going back and forth on buying new painted white cabinets or cherry cabinets (paid to have someone measure correctly today) or painting my oak veneered cabinets. But yours looks like new Maple cabinets that will soon be painted a pretty shade of white....See Morereg_pnw7
