Dumped containers from last year WS'ing

And I can't remember what it is? ...do this all the time!

I always dump the containers that didn't germinate or I thought were just dead (some were)--into my beds so the soil doesn't go to waste.

The one on the left is lunaria....is the one on the right the same? the leaf looks a bit different.

Thought it looked familiar! To be honest, up until now, I had never had luck with the seeds for that!

Both the same. The stalks growing through the one on the right are from hyssop.

This is my first year. I am LOVING the large yogurt containers. We don't really drink a lot of soda, or milk, but we consume a lot of yogurt, so this is what I have. Again, it's my first time so I don't know how well they're actually going to work...but as far as prep time, I think they've been the easiest. Tonight I put another spin on them and cut holes in the lids, leaving only the lip of the lid, and put that right on top of the plastic - no taping. I hope that will hold the plastic in place. If it does, that is definitely the ticket. Easy easy!

Not a bad idea at all. You can actually just sprinkle small seeds such as ones from Foxglove, Poppies and such over the top and let nature take it's course from there. Certainly something I would do. :O) If you want to bother, you can let the soil thaw and reuse it from there, but I wouldn't bother. JMHO!!

I have kale, sowed in Jan, sprouted with almost 100% germination, after two weeks under snow; lettuce sprouting in plastic bags indoors and WS outdoors, spinach sowed a week ago but not doing anything yet. I think any early spring/fall crop veg should be ready to go! But this is my first year-- what do I know except that it has worked despite 4 feet of snow, old seeds, and a healthy dose of skepticism. The proof is in my litle sprouts, some already in pots (lettuce indoors) and others moving on to the big world out there on March 15 (Kale!). I think Ive got a "surprise" turtlehead going out my window at the moment and its too early to tell, but the buds are pretty white looking, they'll probably turn pink when they get bigger, but its kinda fun thinking it might be a white one!

No.

If you'll notice; Dames Rocket has totally different leaves...

Flowers are pretty similiar, although Lunaria has somewhat of streaked effect from center of petal ;)

It's nice to find those surprises from dumped containers! But I usually do the same thing- forget what I dumped where.
