Help doubting myself

This is my 3rd year of WS and for some odd reason I seem to be doubting myself in the garden. I have an awful urge to transplant some of my annuals like my impatiens and balsams that are almost reaching to the top of the jugs into the 9 cell pack thingeys. But then I think if they are big enough to transplant into the cell things then they should be able to go into their intended pots and ground space and then I think what happens if it gets cold again. So I just walk away and leave them in the jugs.. And I have no clue as to why I am even doubting myself. I am of the usual mind that if they can't tough it out I don't really need them.

Has anyone else been this doubting.

I really need to thin out some of the other oh so over crowded jugs but again the doubt comes into my mind. And for things like petunias I second guess myself and just tell my self I can just hos them along with everything else.

I really need words of encouragement.

Paula, this is my first year to WS but I've already planted out HOS cosmos, CA poppies and peony poppies. I had multiple (!) jugs of each and left half or more jugs as backups in the event I lose the first sprouts to frost.
It's always a gamble when you put something down in the flowerbeds--they're at the mercy of scorching sun, pounding rain, fierce winds, frost, slugs, invasive weeds, skunks, deer, bunnies, dogs and careless humans, among other dangers (sometimes all of those at the same time!). My take on it is, you've done them the service of winter sowing which allows so many more seeds to germinate than might otherwise get the chance. Keeping them in the jugs denies them the chance to live, grow and take all the risks that come with survival in their natural environment.
Q: If they don't survive being planted out, perhaps they weren't meant to?

yeah I doubt myself a lot. I planted out lots of ruds and some are wilted. It was either the cold or they dried out. the whole HOS is not dead so I don't know why I worry. I only care if one plant survuves in the HOS.

I guess it is OK to doubt but we should not worry too much cause WS'ing is suposed to be easy :)

I have always had a stainless steel sink and loved it. I don't anything to it - except clean it with dishsoap most evenings (a little more of a pain with the grates, but I am really enjoying them) and give it a good clean every week or two. I have never bothered to wipe it down - had never heard about that until I received my new sink. I bought a Kraus sight unseen from overstock.com (almost 1/2 price the Franke, sigh...beautiful) and am happy with it. It was a good value. My MIL has a white enamel sink. It is beautiful but I was mortified when the pan I was washing left a gray stain which took quite a bit of elbow grease to liberate. After that I felt like I had to wash things so gingerly in it. Here are some quick responses to your specific questions. I always like to point out that we do have an FAQ that answers most questions, but can be overwhelming!! Re: dormancy - they don't have to be cold, but dry and cooler, so bring it in in Sept when it starts to cool down, and stop watering it. Let the leaves yellow and dry out, then cut them down (or grow as evergreen per Donna...but you asked about dormancy, so I'm telling you what my pal in NH does). You can cut the neck straight across where the leaves came out just to keep in clean. Dust it with cinnamon (a good antifungal) and set the pot in the coolest part of your apt out of sunlight. Wait 6-8 weeks and bring the pot out. Give it a good watering and set it in a sunny window and it should bloom again for you. Keep in mind this summer you should be giving it a good all purpose fertilizer on a regular basis. Several here us 1/2 strength MiracleGro or similar. I wouldn't do any packing to insulate it as you suggest, as it needs to "breathe" and you don't want rot or fungus! My bulbs in the greenhouse never get cooler than 45F. The bulbs on the heated enclosed porch never go below 40F. The bulbs in the ground get covered with leaves and they do fine with the occasional freeze we get here. I am so glad you love the blooms! Chispa, thanks for the reassurance. I definitely don't need a tub, but DH loves to take baths, so... I was originally really excited about the look of the tub under the windows, but I think I can make the slightly angled tub work. Any decorating ideas to make it look more balanced with the window on one side of tub and blank wall on the other?

Is Laticrete Permacolor like Tec Powergrout and Mapei Ultracolor FA? What is difference? I heard that Permacolor now has a unsanded version. So, if all the issues being seen with Tec Powergrout (curing) and if is same as others mentioned, would it be likely the curing issues seen in Powergrout might also be seen in these others? I don't know if we have Laticrete Permacolor around here? Now with noticing that my subway tile may actually be 1/16 at best, but maybe even less, I guess I should go for something with no sand/aggregate regardless of aggregate size to be safe? Dang, I have too many issues....Marble hex tile has tiny spot 3 hex tiles not but 1/16, subway tile tiny grout line, floor tile on concrete and very rough grabbing texture. Just give me something that cures and stay gray and I will just not use the dang shower haha
