I can't help thinking that your counter top looks like mine... flashlight, charger cords, flower pots, ad papers... all the same things that gather on mine! You have lovely woodwork, by the way! :-)

My apartment is so messy all the time that I hate showing the surroundings in photos! Larry's a consummate pack rat, and our place is so small that half our stuff is still in boxes! Plus, when you live with dogs, there are always furballs rolling around... well, you know how it is!

Wowsa! Nice present indeed! I'm secretly (or not so secretly now) hoping that it is aanother Pink Surprise. I LOVE that one! It's growing just like my Exotica bulb that has shriveled down so much with 3 scapes and all of them making seeds now. Can't wait to see yours when it blooms!

lol I know. Our house was so neat and tidy....before children. lol That small piece of counter top is right next to our side door. It's the "catch-all" area. The flashlight and the flower pots were Christmas presents. I didn't realize just how many of my presents were in that shot! lol

Thanks for the compliment on the woodwork! I'm really lucky about that. The kitchen cabinets were custom built and the guy was amazing. We're building a new house in the next year or two and I can't WAIT to have the same company do it again. I have so many ideas :-)

How many dogs do you have? We just have our corgi. He isn't allowed on any carpeted areas. I'm a mean "mommy." I sure do love him, though :-)

Being semi-retired from the breeding game, we only have 3 dogs at the moment... one lives out in the kennel, and the other two are inside, with us. At one point, before our house burned, we had about 40 bulldogs. We're getting too old to care for that many dogs... and besides, Larry has taken the breed as far as he wanted to, genetically speaking.

Our dogs are allowed everywhere... the sofa, the bed... although, they seem to like to nap in their crates, which is fine by me! When your life has been all about dogs, you tend to not notice a little fur, or a few paw prints, or a nose mark on a window... it's all part of the deal!

Larry works with everything... except wood. He's my electrician, plumber, tech guy, hairdresser, chef, mechanic, etc... but he does not do carpentry! You're lucky to have found a real cabinet maker to do that woodwork for you... it's very well made, from what I can see.

Our entire apartment is a catchall! I wish Larry wasn't such a pack rat! But if I clean up his stacks of stuff, he gets mad and says he can't find anything! LOL!

What's your Corgi's name? Boy or girl, or have you mentioned it before and I just can't remember?

Well... Larry's up north until Friday, so I'm gonna catch up on a little cleaning while he's out of my hair! :-)

We have a lovely labra-corgi named Kooey. He is a little boy. He is 6 years old. I love him love him love him!

Dogs are great... I grew up with German Shepherds and large breed mutts... and I've always had at least one dog in the house! When we were at the peak of breeding, we'd sometimes have 8 or more dogs in the house... though, most were crated and rotated!

My kids had Tunnel Terriers, and we had American Bulldogs and Olde Bulldogges. It was always a busy house... lots of noise, lots of fur, and lots of work! But, I did enjoy all the dogs!

Having just the two Oldes in the house... it's almost like not having any, at all! These guys are quiet, clean, and they don't bark every time a car goes by or something else happens... now, let me tell you about the 9 Ridgebacks that live downstairs! Constant noise and mess, constant scuffling... it sounds like the Green Bay Packers practice right there in the living room... every day! I couldn't take that now!

While I do miss the melee of the 3 kids and their friends, and all the dogs... I'm sort of glad to be mostly out of the game... it's expensive, time consuming, and lots of hard labor is involved!

Here is our little doggie pride and joy :-) He's so funny looking. He has the build of a corgi, height and weight and all, but the looks of a lab. He does have the corgi ears, though :-) I just LOVE HIM LOVE HIM LOVE HIM. I will be lost when someday he departs to doggie Heaven. I sure hope God lets dogs into Heaven :-)

They have to let dogs in, at least I think so, or it wouldn't be heaven to me. My mom and I had had the debate raging for years. FINALLY, and seriously, as she lay dying one of the last 2 things she said was "I'll take care of Boots until you get there." Boots was my childhood dog and had died in 1982. This was 1994 when my mom siad this. So.....you see, she knew. As I was flying home for her funeral (I had to go home to TX 2 days before she died) there was a full page cartoon in Family Circle on the back page. It had an angel with a beagle standing next to him. The caption said "Getting him in was problem enough. A halo is out of the question!". It was a sign!!!

My friends had a bassett lab cross. Honey was like your dog. Body of a bassett, looks of a lab. We called her an Am-bass-ador!! (ambassador - get it!?)

Kristi, that was a great story... very touching.

And I love the am-bass-ador part at the end! Don't publicize it, though, or we'll have another expensive designer breed making the rounds, just because the name is cute... and ending up in shelters across the country in droves! Some people make me so mad! But that's another story... people who breed only to make money are my biggest pet peeve, no pun intended!

Someday, when Kooey gets to heaven, he can hang out with Minerva and Emma, my two beloved bulldog girls that have gone on to be God's watch dogs. I have a feeling we'll all meet again in the next realm...
