Mistake Planting Garlic - Can I Dig Up and Replant?
Comments (15)Hi Heather, What Glib said is true, but what the heck, you might as well keep going and see how it turns out, besides ...I grow hundreds of pounds of garlic per year and I am always coming across garlic that was missed from last year, and I just pull them up and transplant them, they never give me any trouble, and they are no different from the ones that were done correctly...you'll be fine, no harm-no foul ;-) Check out my video (link is below), on transplanting garlic's, here is a pic of one of the transplants that I divided.. Here is a link that might be useful: Transplanting Garlic...See Moremoon lore, gardening
Comments (5)I like this kind of stuff, 'tho I don't always follow the rythms. I'd like to hear more garden lore. What is your source? Do you have reference books that you could point me to or do you just kinka know it/grew up with it? Is the first line in yer post MOON MAJIC by Lori Reid a book or is it you? sorry I'm dense sometimes. I know there is a relationship btx the moon and the earth and us kritters that abode here upon. Through emperical evidence we (some friends and I) have experimented and found it to be so... Anyway, looking forward to further tid-bits....See MoreUPDATE: Valentine's Day Swap Cupid is out doing his magic!
Comments (119)Hi-- all I just wanted to apoligize for not posting/ getting my package out on time and not communicating well. Tina - I'm so glad your DH is doing better! It's heartwarming to know that love like yours lives today. I vow to stay off the trades for a while as I think I've bitten off too much for me to chew for a while. My apoligies to snyder and gardeningmom - I've been sick with morning sickness, had to leave my job, when I signed up for the trade I thought it would be over by the time the trade began and as it turns out I'm one of the lucky 10-20% who have it for the duration of the pregnancy. Anyway, it's kind of thrown me for a loop along with all the normal chaos of life. I feel just awful for being a bad trader -- I did send -- but not like I normally would (on time, etc.) no more swaps for me for a while - as I don't like to keep you all waiting and wondering. Snyder thanks again for the wonderful package- I'm sorry for not acknowledging you publicly here on the board until just now. Thanks to all my gardening friends and please accept my apoligies for the lateness, and troubles communicating. Hope to trade with you all soon again - once life isn't so chaotic....See Moreblue moon wisteria - buds eaten by what??
Comments (2)I bought a blue moon wisteria for my mom aboaut 3 years ago. She also had trouble with bunnies or deer eating the new growth, especially the first year. I bought her some spray that was made from pig or cow blood. It worked, but we researched to try to find something less gross. Our discovery--soap shavings. She buys cheap bath soap bars at the dollar store and walks around her flower beds and shaves bits of it around her plants using a paring knife. It seems to work. I guess the scent keeps them away. You have to relace over the growing season. Especially after a few heavy rains. I've heard of people using dish soap and water as well. I wonder if human hair clippings might work also. Good Luck! Her wisteria is very beautiful now....See Morekristincarol
