Repeat question: To pinch or not to pinch?

I've opened most of my jub/soda bottles up because my seedlings are getting tall and splindly. I am going to plant them, but I saved their tops, in case I have to cover them back up again. Do you think it might be a good idea to put the tops on before nightfall and take off next morning until they have become established in the flowerbeds? I've gone through a can of Critter Ridder so will start spraying Ropel around the soil (not of foilage). Do I need to take any precaution from the hot sun while they are young and tender?

Should I pinch the ones that are tall and spindly so they will bush out?
