I have Aliens

I have hundreds of these little alien sprouts all over my garden area. No clue what they are and as you can see they have developed a home pod to hatch from. The only guess I have is Cleome because I had so many last year. {{gwi:377989}}

Any idea anyone.

BTW using photo bucket how can pictures be sized differently when posting here, I would have liked to reduce them prior to displaying.

Whoa. If those are cleome I wish I had 'em. I had a couple of sprouts but something made a meal of them the first night they were planted out. (sigh)

Did you trip while carrying your seed stash?

Unless the plants have one of those disease pathogens, common in manures, there would not be anyway for them to be introduced to this "tea". For many years there was a school of thought that said the stinkier something you applied to the garden was the better it was for the garden. Today we know better. Rather then expend your time and energy making this tea why not simply add those plants to your garden, or make compost, which will do the same thing without that odor?

Why Kelly, so unlike you to jump to conclusions without a shred of factuality or even a reasonable assumption to be further investigated. I can almost always tell your posts before I know they're yours. In this case, I couldn't have guessed. With as much seriousness as I'm capable of mustering at any moment, I will tell you that my days of smoking anything other than a ham or turkey are way long ago gone, and probably one of the reasons I took up what I like to call gardening. I am fairly new to worms myself, but it sounds you're doing the right thing for the moisture. It probally just needs a little time. The critters a probally BSF. As long as the bin is outside, you'll probally have them. I pick them out and feed to my Chickens. They are not supposed to harm the worms, though they appear as if they would. Since the adult fly doesn't like being inside, if you move the bin back inside you might find after one cycle the larvae are gone.

What a wonderful problem you have. I would finish the ones that are closest to completion first. If you don't want to finish some of the larger ones, see if they can be partially done and turned into lap quilts. If there are some you just don't want to finish, frame pieces as art, use them to line shadow boxes, make stuffed animals or pillows, or just fold them and hang on a quilt rack for decoration. Even if they aren't completed as quilts, they can bring memories of your mom. beverly

Looks like Jewel Weed to me. Are the stems fleshy & juicy ?
Do you have Jewel Weed in your yard ? Could you have brought some in with a bag of leaves ? It's just starting to sprout here in SE CT.

I too, think you have jewel weed or some other flower perhaps?

Yes I did throw leaves on my garden last fall, and I think I do have jewel weed in my yard, but I only recall seeing it flower in Septermber. If this is what I have is it troublesome to get rid of. I won't pull em up until I am sure.

Rich...to your question about sizing photos:

The second pic you posted is 800 x 600 pixels. That's apparently the size you have PhotoBucket set to store your pics.

If you insert this statement into your img src statement, you can adjust the size of the posting:

width= "400" height= "300">

That will show it at half size.

The size qualifier goes after the image's URL closing quote. Leave a space between the close quote and the size statement.

Remember to reduce each dimension equally, to maintain aspect ratio.

I've got the same thing all over my garden beds (and there is wild jewelweed nearby). They're driving me crazy!

Jewelweed is a good immediate antidote for Poison Ivy. I have some in my yard, and it's kind of pretty. It grows around our burn pile. I don't get rid of it because I never know when I might need it!
It has a cute little flower (yellow with a bit of red on it, looks almost like a shell). I thinks it's in the family/or is Impatiens Balsam(ina?)

It took me awhile to get jewelweed established. Do the happy dance if it is yellow. I can't get yellow going here!!
