Well....the austins sound spot on.....for the UK. Now don't you get a few massive ones where you are? OTOH, I don't think any of these are the ones which throw great limber canes (Graham Thomas?)

I was going to say 10 x 10 for Mme Lombard, but decided to go out and measure to make sure I wasn't exagerating. The cutting from Melva (THANK YOU!) was planted in 07. In 09 a pine tree fell on it. It now stands at an astounding 7 tall x 14 ft wide! This is one of my very few Perfect Roses.
I have 7 Judes and they are very vase shaped. I would say 6 x 2. But I've noticed that Austins grow differently in California than Texas. My Molineux were 4 x 3 before I removed them.

cweathersby, you've got to be kidding about Mme Lombard!! Mine's a tad little squirt just in the ground 2 months, but I've only allowed her 6' across. Sounds like a nip & tuck job.
Paula, I thought you mentioned Comtessa du Cayla which I have but see now that it was Clementina. I wish... My Bermuda Anna Olivier (don't know if you have Bermuda or the other one) is 6' across and getting taller.

Ulp, thanks -- I'm just going to have to move Madame Lambard then. I do have another spot which will work, and it's not too late. I'm so glad I checked. I thought it might be a big one, but that's not what I was reading. You really saved me a lot of problems a year or two from now.

Anyone have any ideas about Clementina Carbonieri? If it doesn't rain tonight or early tomorrow, I'll be planting in the morning.

Campanula, Austins often do get bigger here in California, so I went with the larger end of the size ranges I found. If they grow a little larger yet, I'll still be okay. It isn't all of them that do this. I'm actually pleased that Cweathersby reported a larger size for Molyneaux. Two feet sounds too small, at least where these roses will be sited.

Sherry, my Anna Olivier comes from a cutting from Jackie's plant, which is both huge and ancient, something like a hundred years old. I'm pretty sure it cannot be the Bermuda one.

My Clementina Carbonieri was 6' x 8' when I took her out this year, at 4 years old, because it was clear she was going to be way larger than the space she could have. Any blooms later than early spring also got nailed by the heat here, so it was multiple factors. Otherwise, the cleanest foliage on the lot and a real beauty.

My Teas are much slower-growing than yours, but 'Clementina Carbonieri' gets big with time, just as catspa says.

I did consider adding more roses to this bed in time, thinking it might be sparse. Clearly I will not have that problem!

My Jude is in an area of the yard that does not get irrigated very well (at the end of the drip line which has failed). If it got water regularly it would probably be 6'tall x 4' wide. It is probably 4x3 now.

We have several Mme Lambards in the cemetery. They are LARGE tea plants. A minimum allowance should be 6x6, larger if you have the space.

Jeri has a row of Golden Celebration planted along side of her house. Think that the 5x4 is probably about right, but she'd be a good person to ask, tho her climate is milder.

Madame L moved and the rest of the roses planted, teas, Austins, and climbers. I believe I'll stand back from a safe distance and watch them burst forth!

Diligent pruning after each flush keeps Molineux to 6' tall. They are both about 4' wide. It has an ht-like growth habit on the main canes then twigs out so it's full and lush looking. It would be a lot taller without diligence. Golden Celebration is about 6x8 here. I only dead head it, basically. It has a nice natural shape without any help. Same with Jude, about 5x5 or 6x6.

Janelle, even here, our larger Golden Celebrations are 6 ft. tall -- and as wide as tall -- arching graceful shrubs. As Hoov notes, the rose does not stand in need of pruning and, in my microclimate, resents it.
