I have a band rose I never planted - its Nov. in Ohio, advice

I bought several band roses in the spring but could not decide where to plant this one.. so I didn't. It was transplanted to a larger pot in the summer and looks vigorous. It is a Conrad Ferdinand Meyer rose.

I throw my horse manure over the top of a small ravine. I'm thinking of sinking the whole pot down into the composted manure for the winter so I don't disturb the roots. The spot gets some protection from west winds because it's behind an out building. Also the manure pile is contoured because I dig manure out of it all summer and I can use the manure pile itself to protect the rose. I wouldn't plant it on the "hot" side of the pile but on the composted side. Will this work? Would something else be better?

Feeling embarrassed, LindaRenee
