Natt if you knew that he did not rebloom very quickly or not at all, why did you get him.

He maybe a charm and sure have some gorgeous blooms
but also heard and read a lot of negative things about him.

Outta the Blue is my biggest disappointment.
It supposed to be blooming repeatedly and I only saw one bloom on it all season.
Come spring next year I will be moving it to a better and sunny location.
If Outta The Blue does not smarten up
It will be Outta Here.

I planted a Geoff Hamilton late this summer, even though I heard negative things about it. I just love the blooms, and I'm going to take it as a challenge to make it perform. It's going to be a reform school for roses. :)

Golden Celebration and Tamora disappointed me-- also DA's. Golden Celebration being a climber gets a pass as it is new this year, but at this young stage blooms hang straight down and cannot be seen. Tamora just doesn't seem to be very vigorous, nor does it repeat well. At the same time I planted these I planted several tea roses, floribundas Lavaglut, Escapade and Coffee Country, and those immediately formed nice plants and have bloomed and bloomed. The big winner this year, outblooming everything else including the mature bushes, was Quietness. Win some, lose some (that's why shovels were invented??). Nattanporn, having seen the glorious pictures on hmf you might want to give your plant a good 3 years before you decide. At its best it is clearly a gorgeous thing..

'Star of the Nile', which has gorgeous flowers with a wonderful scent. It simply has not been vigorous for me. I got 2 bands of it from Heritage, one died, the other is just surviving after 3 years of TLC, even though it is in a really prime spot with plenty of water and rich soil. Oh well, maybe next year will be its "leap" year.

Basye's Purple rose looked beautiful when I bought it as a band, had some lovely blooms and nice foliage. In spite of lots of care it's now two naked stems with about five leaflets on top of one of them. I thought this would be a large vigorous rose. I'll try replanting it once and if that doesn't work it's going bye-bye.

This rose is in mortal jeopardy at the moment. Actually I am granting it a reprieve until next summer. If it does not produce more than one sad little spring flush it will be shovel pruned. The good news of course is that its demise will create an opening..,

Thank you for sharing your experience and cheerful comment. Because on that time I am very new for David Austin roses and I just read his catalog he said Geoff Hamilton is good repeating. I am very love to have him a lot then I decided to order him. I already had seen the glorious pictures of Geoff Hamilton on HMF very charming and very beautiful hope one day my Geoff Hamilton will be covering with bloom like that too. I know that is too early to judge him because I only grew him here for a year and he has very long strong cane about 5-6 feet also large bush and beautiful leaf. Still keep looking to see one of his blooms.

If it's a new rose this year for you I'd give it at least one more if not two more years to establish itself. I've heard many many stories of people who have given away what they thought was an under performer to a friend or family member after one year only to kick themselves when they saw what it turned into given some time.

I have a couple of disappointments this year. Christian Dior never gave me a single bloom, boo hoo, and Country Music only gave me two. I have Quietness and just love it so I thought I'd try some more Buck roses. I got Country Music and Winter Sunset. Neither of them have done anywhere near as well as Quietness. Winter Sunset bloomed for me but the blooms go from bud to fallen in less than a day and Country Music is more or less just sitting there. I do intend to keep them for a while to see if that changes though.

i have 2 camieux bands i planted april. sticks and sparse near-death looking foiliage.
i also have band of baseye's purple, stick with a few leaves on top but to be honest that one was neglected and out in the barnyard. i had to find it amongst the overgrown grass. sounds like it would have made no difference if i would have cared for it better.

My most disappointing rose was Just Joey, only giving me about 5 blooms in 6 years. I finally got rid of it. Julia's Rose was another that I finally got rid of after it continued to fail over the years.

I had Basey's Purple but shoveled it because I had no where to go with it and it had to be moved. Now, I have 6 more...I didn't plant those. Known to "visit the neighbors" Basey's Purple is one hard to kill rose! It did bloom well when I had it, but the blooms seemed to get lost in the plant.

My Geoff Hamilton blooms quite well but it didn't in his first year.

I had lot of disappointing roses that I couldn't wait having but then they didn't perform or I lost them. I just mention my last frustration, Delbard's Alleluia - I loved this rose but it declined year by year. We dug up and potted up a few months ago in the hope that we can save it. We couldn't: it is dead as a door nail by now.
