I am not familiar with your area in terms of nurseries, but can offer you a few suggestions. Outdoor plants are generally sold by gardening zones, even by the so-called "big box" stores. So, while your local HD or L's might not be carrying any Crapes, in Zone 7-9, they're practically giving them away. You might ask your local stores or reliable, local nurseries if they might order one for you (or drive into Zone 7 if not too far). I know my local HD does do this but it depends on their distributors if you can actually get the particular plant.
Have you looked at eBay for them? Crapes actually grow very fast in my opinion. You should be able to purchase a smaller one though I don't know if you would risk it at this time of year--heat issues. Sellers are pretty good usually about prepping plants for shipping, but still. The Dynamite in the picture was purchased last year at HD for $6.99 in a small pot!

Oh, sorry, almost forgot about the yew. Here I can't help. I had to rip out all my Yew bushes and replace them with boxwoods and crape myrtles because deer are abundant in the yard and deer love to eat Yew. So Crapes have the added advantage of being deer resistant!

P.S., They also make great containerized plants but you would need to protect the pot from freezing as all plants are cold hardier in the ground as long as the zone is appropriate for the plant.

though you seem loathe to go elsewhere.. the conifer forum peeps MIGHT have sources for such.. i might bet dax might know .. forest farm lists 2 ....

if you are looking for the species.. sometimes.. they are sold as understock.. to which the foo foo are grafted.. but something tells me.. these might root ..

Yeah, no hurry on the yew, I've been looking for a couple years for one for the grave and wanted to get it at the same time as the Crepe M. My best friend loves Crepe Myrtles and her birthday is August 28. I guess I'll check the conifer forum, I should have thought to do that, I just automaticly went to trees. My brain runs on autopilot sometimes and misses common sense. Toronado mentioned that "Dynamite" Crepe M does good in his zone 6 yard so I will try to get that one. Njoasis I haven't had deer munch my shrub yews, they are too far from where the deer cross, and close to the neighbors dog kennel. My friend who'll get the Crepe M gets deer in her back yard alot so that's good deer won't touch it. As far as zone 7 goes, it will be simpler to go mail order and get zone 6 Dynamite. The zone 7 line is 250 - 300 miles away in coastal Virginia.

I'd worry there are reasons you don't see the Taxus locally. Like it dies.

Pocky, NJ Zone 7 is much closer and every HD /L's still has some.

Dynamite crApe myrtle...you might have better luck spelling it with an 'a'; most professionals spell it that way and some sites may not show results for the alternate spelling. There are almost an infinite number of sources for this plant.

I had checked on Forest farm in the past and thought they only had " Densiformis", I should've thought to check Oikos, but I think of Oaks when I think Oikos.I know The Crape Myrtles are everywhere. Njoasis, I think Wash. DC is the closest zone 7. I am in Southwest Pa close to the WV border, so NJ is a good peice away. I say Dc is zone 7 because there is a Quercus Virginiana growing in DC by one of the museums, it has been there for a while and is fairly large.

Here's a Japanese yew called 'Capitata'. This one is easily 12' tall and can get much taller. The feature that I like about this one is the full foliage all the way to the ground. Consider this one if you can't find English Yew. Pic taken in Maryland.

BTW, some cemeteries have restrictions about planting around graves.(especially memorial gardens)

Thanks Sam, but, I really was interested in the English/Irish Yew for me to leave it in it's natural form, as a tree tall and wide, not the sheared form well behaved and formal. I'm going to assume the Japanese yew would look nothing like the UK Yew if left to grow wild, especially not in size wide and tall. Well, maybe I should look into it more. I'll do a web search, if it can look a good bit like it. I'm rural so I can plant any tree I want anywhere in my yard.

BTW, I saw some of the dark purple leaves Crapes with light pink or white flowers, but, I want the green leaved and pink or other normal colored flowers, when or if I get a Crepe. I am not sure I'll ever get one. I saw some nice ones in Va, but, I would never grow any that were a tree size so I may not even bother.

Do you have any nurseries that carry monrovia plants? Also, you may be interested in crepe myrtle 'best red'.

WEll Logan, in my zone 6 most big box stores have empty plant sections now. I doubt there are any plants in the nursery center.

You can order plants from monrovia's website and have them shipped to a participating store/nursery for pickup.

Thanks Logan, but I'm kinda not too interested in most plants now except for a few plants that I haven't mentioned to anyone, mostly because they are only available in seed form and pretty damn expensive. Bayberry shrubs seeds now, and/or the yews from the Uk or the one from Japan "capitata" I guess cheaper than anyone can offer. But, really, I think the BAYBERRY< NORTHERN BAYBERRY, SEEDS are what I am really interested in. I really would like to purchase a few Bayberry shrubs VERY cheap; I have not much experience on how well they do in zone 6, so i will NOT pay much for them.
