I like the ones I grow because they are hardy enough to survive a long cold winter and are quite a bit more disease resistant than average.

The ones I have are:
Tahitian Moon - this one is growing like a small climber. Easily 6' tall this year. The blooms are stuffed full of petals and are quite pretty.

Macy's Pride - I really like this one. It has Carefree Beauty and Graham Thomas in it's parentage. It's such a delicate light yellow/cream color and the lightly fragrant flowers have a simple beauty to them. If I had room I'd love to have several more.

Grandma's Blessing - this was my first EE rose and one of my favorites too. The blooms are a pretty pink and more of a HT form and it's lightly fragrant.

Fiesta - this one is described as growing 3-4 feet tall so you can imagine my surprise when the darn thing grew long canes this summer stretching easily over 6'. I built a tripod out of 8' rebar and after wrapping the canes around they are STILL coming out the top. Too bad I planted it right next to the walkway. I love the raspberry and white striped blooms that have a yellow glow in the center. This is my second year with this one and honestly it hasn't bloomed much. Could be it's not getting enough sun or fertilizer but since my stupid neighbor just had his tree cut down today maybe next year it will bloom more. If not it's taking up too much space to keep...

Last Tango - pretty ruffley flowers in a bright pinkish red. I don't have any good pix of this one because I can never capture the color properly. The rabbits chewed this one a few too many times this spring and it has died.

All The Rage - this one has the most gorgeous color changes. The buds start out a bright orange and as the flower opens it gradually changes to different shades of pink. The flowers are large and all the different shades of the blooms make the plant very colorful. JohnW posted some nice pix of this one on the gallery a few weeks ago. This is NOT just another pink rose.

My Hero - pretty clusters of medium red flowers. I just got this one a month ago so it's too soon to say much more.

Funny Face - I like the interesting painted look of each petal. Mine hasn't been too happy sitting in a pot all summer. I'm guessing once it gets a spot in the ground it will be much happier.

I should have pictures of all the ones mentioned above somewhere. If you'd like to see them let me know and I'll dig them up. Also, I've loaded many of the pix onto HMF.

Neroseman I love Easy Elegance. I only have one: Sunrise Sunset, and she blows me away. She's been constantly in bloom since late June and has been pretty carefree .It's Oct 10 today, and she's still pumping out the blooms! I think this one over wintered the best, and I doubt I had any protection on her. She was short however, so she stayed under snow cover. I think I sprayed fungicide 3 times this entire summer, and EE never had any problems.

I know she's not one on your list, but here she is with some of her friends. She's the pink one with a touch of pale yellow in front.

BTW Sunrise Sunset also throws off the long canes. I let them arch since she's in the front of the bed.

Does anyone know of a mailorder bareroot source for Bailey Roses (who produce these plants on multiflora rootstock)?
Bailey will sell, but a minimum order is 1000 plants.

I'm not sure who would be carrying them bareroot. Mine were all purchased at a local nursery. They were all own root too.

Yes, thanks to the info about them being own roots. Last time I checked (two years ago) CRL said Bailey's produced roses on multiflora.
That's no longer correct.
Their Easy Elegance website linked below confirms the own root-edness as well as describes their propagation and disease testing and talks about their two year guarantee.
It's limited to two plants per household and excludes plants in pots.
I wonder if there are any in test beds in the southeast?

I'm predisposed in their favor since this is the nursery that gave us the Endless Summer hydrangea - the first blue for cold climates. If they can pull off the same trick with roses, they'll be doing all of us in zone 4 and 5 a favor.

I went to a talk given by Ping Lim back in June. He said that the roses are tested in Minnisota, Alabama " I think " but it was the southeast. and Oregon. When grown in Minnisota they are given no cover for the winter and they are never sprayed for diseases. As seedlings they are grown in greenhouses that have blackspot and mildew spores pumped in by fan. Needless to say that reduces the number of roses to get tested.

I only have 2 varieties, Macy's Pride and Funny Face. I planted them in front because the soil is bad (all my soil is gravel-yellow-clay unless amended), kids cutting through the yard, and strong sun. Mine have stayed compact (so far about 2 feet and bushy) and are part of a low mixed shrub border - got them as own root from a local Home Depot last year. I like the flowers of Macy's Pride better, my Funny Face is a garish pink - but she has nice light orange hips! Both have been disease-free, no-spray, just some insect damage - good easy-care roses.

It looks to me like the retail locator is simply a list of everybody who does wholesale business with Bailey's. Around here, it's more a list of where to buy Endless Summer hydrangeas than anything rose related.

The retail locator wouldn't load for me yesterday. It does include wholesale and retail.
My local HD is listed and I saw very few roses there this past spring; and one greenhouse is on a road I drive down to go to the library and I've never seen a greenhouse sign there, or greenhouse(s).
There are a couple of leads to real independent nurseries and I will call them to see what's ordered for spring. Thanks for the leads I wouldn't have gotten otherwise.

I was attracted to this line of roses because they were advertised as being winter hardy and own root, so I purchased Sunrise Sunet, Kiss Me, Grandma's Blessing,Funny Face, and Fiesta two years ago. Fiesta throws long canes and didn't bloom much this summer, and Sunrise Sunset was SP'd last week due to RRD, but was a bloom machine before getting sick. I planted Funny Face next to Queen Elizabeth and she has grown tall and also is constantly in bloom. These roses shrugged off the ugly '07 Easter freeze without any permanent damage. I love these roses and plan to add the rest of the line to my garden. I purchased them from D.A. Hoerrs Nursery and Greenview Nursery in Peoria, IL....not sure if they ship, but you could check their websites. Hope this info helps.

Many of the collection are 'landscape' roses, so think masses of color, little flowers, easy care and lack of scent. Think potentilla...

But there are a few goodies in the large collection. I have the brilliant new 'All the Rage' which I think is one the of best roses I have ever planted. I also have 'Snowdrift' a little white flowered thing given to me as a gift. 'Superhero' is on my short list for 2008 acquisitions.

Sponsorship of 'Endless Summer' is not a good selling point for me. It's the most overhyped, expensive plant they offer. An underperformer for most people in my part of the world.

Thanks again for the very informative comments! Now my own observations, based on the Test Beds at Elizabeth Park (CT), Z6a/5b. There are at least 3 beds of these "Easy Elegance" roses being grown, in groups of 15 per bed. In general, they show above-average hardiness, vigor, repeat bloom & disease resistance (though some do take slight to moderate blackspot). The main negatives IMO are a lack of strong fragrance & the flowers, some of which have (IMO again) a way too artificial, waxy, modern look (though there probably are exceptions elsewhere in the series). Also, several of them have surprisingly tall growth for a shrub rose, already up to 6'(!). And these are own-roots!

Waiting to hear how the six foot tall canes make it through a New England winter.
Does Elizabeth Park cut the roses back in late fall, or are they on their own?
And do the Easy Elegance roses keep growing into fall or have the good sense to shut down before serious freezes?

I think these will be left alone, Ann. They came through last winter well (though it wasn't a very severe one). I'll have to check again to see if they're "shutting down".
