What's Wrong, Japanese Maple (pix)

Any idea what is wrong with my Japanese Maple? We've had a mild summer so I don't think the leaves are burnt. I don't see bugs on it and water once a week, unless it rains.

I bought it August 08. A couple of the leaves were discolored when I planted it, but I didn't think it was a big deal. It survived the winter, but now each week the all leaves discolor quickly, die and fall off.

looks like leaf scorch. How much sun do you have it in, also how often do you water it? This also can be from to much water. Japanese Maples like afternoon shade.

And/or not yet fully rooted in. usually takes at least two years.

Oh, thank you, that is something I didn't even consider, but it makes sense. We had that freakish super-early spring with temps 20-30 degrees above normal, and then a few nights of hard frost about 3 weeks ago. Would it take a few weeks for the damage to show up like that? Thanks again.

Are you sure? Because the branch structure and the surrounding bushes (boxwood?) look to be the same. Also, in this photo of the same dissectum, you can see the tree's position in relation to the water. It looks to be the same as the shot posted above. Kneeling down on the path and taking a shot up into the branches would make the tree look a lot larger. If you look at the size of the leaves in comparison to the branches in the shot/link I posted above, it's not actually that big of a tree.
