Pretty sure 'Feral' isn't a guy.
Comments (2)I have a friend who had a feral cat hang around her house sound a lot like this. The momma feral cat, ended up getting bred by a house cat. The babies were so cute and the feral momma ended up raising them in a shrub area close to the house and when the babies were almost old enought to be weaned, she brought them to the place where my friend would sit and watch. She left them there and never came back. My friend finished raising the cats, when she took them to the vet to be checked out, the vet said they were some of the healthiest cats he had seen. I seen the cats, and they are full grown now, and the most beautiful you have ever seen. Anyway, what she did for the nest, was, she put out a box with strings, cotton, old shirts torn into rags, etc, and the cat used what it wanted to for it's nest. That way she was helping out, without interfearing. As far as the food, she would feed it leftovers and every night a can of tuna....See MoreI'm pretty sure it's a weed... but which one?
Comments (4)Ugh. Well, thanks for confirming jeanne's answer, mulberryknob (great name, by the way!). I'm glad that she found it at their rental, and not in her own garden. I've battled with C. punctata in the past, and this looks from the photo to be even more aggressive/tenacious. Thanks again, both of you!...See MoreI'm Back--Luggage isn't!!!
Comments (15)Linda welcome home ! I hope they find your luggage soon ! look forward to seeing the pics.. It is always hard watching out parents get old, I am so glad you were able to spend some quality time with him.. Enjoy your time in the garden ! I always go there to destress.....See MoreFirst delivery of worms. I'm thinking this isn't normal :(
Comments (7)I'm happy to report that a replacement batch arrived today. Sadly they spent a week in transit, likely due to the holidays, but other than a few dried worms they were all very happy to be home!! Placed them in my bin and within half an hour they have all migrated down. Since the first 27 are still alive and kicking and I would say the bin is in great condition for these new worms... I'll officially call myself a vermicomposter :) Gosh, I hope I didn't just jinx myself, lol. On another note.... my father in law gave us an old smoker, one of the tall ones like an Old Smokey. I'm thinking of converting it into a flow through project after the first of the year. Already has a grate and lid, so I'm thinking why not..... Thoughts anyone? My main concern is rust, but I could line it with pond lining or a tarp like I've seen some do. It's metal, so definitely no direct sun if I should keep it outside. Plenty of time to play around with the idea :)...See Morecarolfm
