Thanks, patricia43. When I took the photos, I didn't think I'd be in it from the gardening angle, they just looked so pretty in the sunlight that late afternoon. It's mainly a spring lilac garden, but the gazebo is a popular place for weddings now. When you said Katy Road Pink, I didn't know what you were talking about, but I looked it up at HMF. As usual their pictures so vary that you don't know if it is the same rose or not with a few of them, but many of them definitely are the same rose. And are simply stunning. It is very disease resistant, and will grow in z4 and up. Katy Rose Pink aka Carefree Beaty aka BUCbi (hybridized by Griffith J. Buck). They've got a note stuck at the very bottom that says: "From email: This rose is also known by the misnomer 'Katy Road Pink' (a "found" rose). Dottie, I know about the car washing thing, but my understanding is that one must wash one's car then take it out on rain-slicked roads for a good mud rinse ..... and given the price of gas that joyride just wasn't in the cards! We got a teaser the other night, not enough to even register in the rain gauge. but the thunder brought back memories of times long past - i.e. real rainstorms :o( I have no lawn area, thank goodness, and water by hand (to ten or fifteen count at the base of each plant/shrub 'bout once a week). Water restrictions have never affected or bothered me - hope this year is the same. I don't overdo. What does bother me is that water conservaion should be practiced by all, all the time - not just to make good press copy. As much as I love seeing homes w/rolling, lush lawns, they are ecologically soooooo unsound. Off my soapbox now ......

We're still getting rain off and on in SE PA. It rained around 4" on Saturday, rained again Sunday night into Monday and all day Monday. It rained again on Tuesday and heavily on Tuesday night and we had light showers today. I must wholeheartedly agree, the rain dance worked! Carol
