What to do with newly started roses during winter

Hi,

This past summer we inherited my grand parents house. At one time there was a beautiful garden in the back yard that had some exceptional roses. They originally came west in a covered wagon and were planted at the family homestead in southeast Washington State. Later some were eventually transplanted to the house in Spokane.

I know nothing about roses but decided to try starting some from cuttings. The first two tries were disasters. We managed to turn the cuttings into sticks, but the third try seems to have worked. We now have a large tub with 20 rose starts that were started in July. With winter approaching I donÂt know what to do with them. They are only a couple months old and are fragile. Do they need to go dormant? If so, how do we make it happen and what to do with them for the winter? Should they be kept inside and allowed to grow?

Any help is appreciated.
