For me Madame Joseph Schwartz is a tea with a good rebloom and very healthy outside of a slightly greater tendency to mildew.

I have Baby Faurax, Camellia Rose, Perennial Blue, and Darlow's Enigma. Darlow was new (from Ashdown) this spring, so can't really comment, but he's a nice big plant and has so far been very healthy. Baby F is one of my absolute favorites - always in bloom, and the flowers are so pretty! Perennial Blue is beautiful, but so far just gives me a spring flush, no repeate (but mine is still a young plant, so that may change as he gets older). Camellia Rose is very beautiful, and blooms for me even in a rather shady spot. I think you'll be happy with these roses!

Thanks for the quick responce Paparose and Francis. I have Duchess d Brabant and if I am not mistaken, Mme Joseph Schwartz is a sport of it. DDB does mildew for me in the spring, so I sort of expected Mm JS to also. I am excited to hear that Baby Faurax is a constant bloomer. Do you grow it in a pot? Has Perennial Blue gotten big for you?

Spice is really healthy in my garden and has a nice plant habit & shape. It's not very thorny either. I can't smell its fragrance very well at all, but some people say they do pick up on its fragrance. It blooms really often, rarely without a bloom. In the spring & fall, its blooms are really charming and well-shaped. But in the summer, they are inconsequential in color, shape, & size.

Perennial Blue requires at least a whole year in the ground to get the repeat started- just like most climbers it takes some time to establish and really kick off. Well worth the wait.

Baby Faurax must like cooler weather than I'm able to give it because it's been just a few sticks with yellow leaves for some time now. Mme. Joseph Schwartz also struggles in the heat here but I've given her extra water and she seems to be reviving somewhat. I have two Spice, and the one in partial shade is far outperformed by the one in the sun, in spite of being touted as a good shade rose.

I ordered Blush Noisette and Mlle. Cecile Brunner (syn. 'Spray Version') too. I have no idea where I'm going to put them. LOL.

Haywood Hall is a lovely light pink noisette, with the sweetest fragrance. It is a good candidate for a large tripod. It balled for me a bit this spring, but our spring was much cooler and damper than usual.

Champney's Pink Cluster is upright and spreading. Mine is fairly bald right now, because it's in a less-than-ideal location and I haven't been spraying as often as I should.

Camellia Rose is a bit awkward in its second year here. It grows like the teas ... sends up a tall shoot, then grows to fill it in, sends up a tall shoot ... etc. The flowers are lovely.

Darlow's Enigma gets BIG. Olga's is up to the second story of her house. Mine died to the ground last winter, and is 2' tall, sprouting back from the roots. Ya gotta love own-root plants.

Mme. Joseph Schwartz is a small rounded tea. Mine is 3 years old, and it's about 3' tall x 4' wide. Exactly the same habit as Duchesse de Brabant.

'Mount Vernon Purple Noisette' is also known as Mrs Woods Lavender Pink Noisette. It's next to Champneys' Pink Cluster in my garden, and it's bald too. I grow it free-standing, but it could probably stand a bit of support. The flowers in spring are a beautiful lavender pink, just as the name suggests. In its current location, I don't get a whole lot of rebloom ... my bad, not the fault of the rose. I have been considering moving mine to a better spot.

Etoile de Mai is a tiny little thing. I got mine from RU last spring. The flowers are completely precious ... they look a lot like pale yellow Cecile Brunner flowers. The bush, however, is barely 1 x 1. It's not sickly or struggling, it's just not the fastest grower in the garden.

Thank you for the information on the roses I ordered. I have only been growing roses for 4 years and really like to hear about the experiences of others, esp when it come to height, disease resistance, growing pattern ect....Thanks for the heads up on Etoile de Mai, I have a nice pot that it can go into. I like your idea of putting 'Mount Vernon Purple Noisette' and Champneys' Pink Cluster next to each other. I have an area with some modern purples (ebb tide and wild blue yonder) and was planning to use them and perennial blue as a backdrop against the fence.
