Here is what I requested but will not receive:
Earl of Nanjing
Eugene Boullet (really wanted)
La Motte Sanguine
Comte de Torres
I was really disappointed, particularly as they said the didn't expect any varieties to "sell out" immediately. I placed my order bright and early.
Anyone else care to share what he she requested/received?

Ah Susan well done grabbing Earl of Eldon. I was gunning for him as well.

I was also trying for Earl of Eldon but have not heard from Vintage yet.

I also was disappointed as they sent the email at 11pm for ordering to begin the next morning at 9am. I didn't see the email til a bit after 9 and needed time to research. Wish they had given us a day or two to study.

There are no ways to take them with you in the move? Might you make arrangements with others who grow them for cuttings or plants after the move? Might it be a good time to learn to propagate or make arrangements with other forum members to propagate them for you? I would volunteer to help, but my only sure fire method of propagation is closing for the season. It's getting warm enough out there to inhibit rooting and this material is already pushed too far for wrapping. Plus, I'm maxed out on room until what's already there is gone. Kim

These roses intrigue me: A creamy peach cl. H.T. with Tea-Noisette breeding named "Comte de Torres" appears sweet and lovely. and "Jeanne Corboef" a H.T. from 1902 with its' large silky pink petals. a climbing form of "Gruss an Coberg" which is one of the healthiest Pernetiana roses in our area, floriferous and re-blooms more rapidly than 100 other H.T.s and Pernetiana roses in the same garden. I hope to be seduced by "Lord Beaconsfield" for I could only consider a "strong" smelling red rose. I'd grow every Tea in the world if I had room. "Marie Ducher" a rose-pink Tea with many tousled "rose pink" petals and "strong" fragrance is of special interest to me. At most I can only perceive a moderate and lovely fragrance from my Tea roses. I am grateful to Greg Lowery for having the foresight to import these old roses, the cost seems very reasonable to me. Lux.

That's amazing--congratulations. You're so lucky not to have to do the daily, "Is the house ready for showing" thing for weeks/months. Hope your sale goes as smoothely as ours has (so far, knocking on wood as I type)with settlement less than 2 weeks away, we're starting to breathe--LOL!

*lol* Different people live in different ways. And he is the boss in our house. To be fair though, this has been his home for 15 years, and mine only a year and a half. And, the only reason he is selling this for a bigger nicer home is for me and my children, so, I try to give the poor guy a break! We will know by 11:00 tonight if our offer is accepted or not. If not, there probably won't be any negotiating as another couple put an offer in today as well. Whichever offer is most attractive to them for whatever is reason is the one they will take. Hey, any Louisvillians care to take in a bossy dr. dr. professor, a 42 year old college student (and secret shopper) 2 kids, 2 dogs, and 4 cats? Anyone?... *sigh* guess not. Well, I was up early that day and did my homework...I just got the impression there was no sense of "rush" to getting my order in.
I will be more than happy to take cuttings of Earl when the time is right if someone will explain how I should do it. I really really wanted Boullet and Earl of Nanjing....
I'm more than glad to pass on cuttings of anything anyone wants.

In that last offering I ordered one rose, Soyeuse de Lyon. I really wanted it and will be getting it.

I agree Diane, I read the email the next day about 10am. No point in even looking at the list by then I figured.

I got notice yesterday that I got all 5 of my choices! First time this has happened. Figured I would be lucky to get one. Guess this will be my last Vintage order, so really thrilled to get these treasures.

Is it possible to mail you all "cuttings" which aren't rooted? I haven't rooted anything before but I got some great suggestions on another thread.
I was looking through the Vintage catalog last night. Amazing how many roses they had! Gosh.

HT - Coddington / 1928
Burnt orange streaked red, double flowers are sometimes bleached orange-buff on the outer petals; set off by handsome glossy foliage. One of the great beauties of the early Pernetiana roses.

Very pale lavender blooms are perfectly scrolled and open slowly...Fragrance is superb; strongly tending toward the Damask scent.

I will also be glad to share anything I have. Got prime spots picked out for these roses - hopefully by next spring they will be growing well and I can take cuttings.

The cuttings directions on the hartwood roses site work well. Try it outside when its cool or inside under a full spectrum plant light. You need to keep them cool or it has a low success rate.

Today I received a beautiful little plant of 'Luter'/'Wildenfels Gelb' as the last rose I will receive from Vintage. A bittersweet day, for sure.
