Elie Beauvilain -- Blooms are beautiful, but my patience is at an end. If she doesn't do something exciting VERY soon, this rose will be gone. All two feet of her. It's been close on five years. Perhaps she will love Texas heat.

Gilbert Nabonnand -- It took him a good four years to really establish, but he is finally a graceful plant of some four feet, which covers itself in opalescent blooms. In coastal Southern California, he's a winner.

Le Pactole -- This rose was returned to commerce, having been discovered in Sonora by Botanist and Rosarian Fred Boutin. I LOVE IT! I saw it first in the Sacramento City Cemetery, where it is at least 8 ft. tall. The bloom color is very like Lamarque, but the form is different. Twisting ribbon-like petals give it a unique look. Le Pactole may take a while to mature, but once it does, it's a winner.

Radiance -- It has been said of the Radiance clan that they can be grown successfully in any place where civilized man (or woman!) has managed to live. That's probably no exaggeration. They are disease-free, beautiful, and vigorous. I have Red Radiance, and intend to get Radiance.

Lady Anne Kidwell -- Among my favorite Poly-Teas. A graceful plant which can get big if not pruned. Disease-resistant in California. Blooms in volume. You won't regret this one. Sprays are very open (this is not a prospect for rose shows -- judges hate it). Blooms remind me of softly-tied cerise satin ribbons.

Gilbert Nabonnand is a winner here.
Extremely healthy for me.
The most graceful looking plant & foliage of any tea rose I've grown.
Rarely ever any thorns on its canes, but there are small prickles underneath each leaf mid-rib. So, he can scratch you a little bit, even though you can't see any thorns.
You will love this one!

Below is a shot of my Gilbert Nabonnand in the spring, when he has more petals. During that cool weather time of year, he is nearly unmatched in beauty IMHO.
During summer he still blooms like crazy, but there are far fewer petals and the blooms are much smaller.
Fragrance is there for my nose, and it's extremely good, but it's also very light.

FYI, I forgot to mention that GN's petals are very weather-resistant ... they still look good in the rain (doesn't spot like Mrs Dudley Cross, etc).

Nearly all Tea class rosebushes are bushy with lots of leaves, the smaller ones are perfect for hiding the ugly lower canes of H.T.s, the thing is, there are very few small Tea class rosebushes, and rose hybridizers would do the world a favor by breeding more small Tea roses.
My favorite smaller Tea is
"Mme Antoine Mari" c. 4' tall here.
I do love "Westside Road Cream Tea', it is very bushy and matures to c. 4' tall in Northern California
both may grow taller in warmer climates.
The china Arethusa is smaller, here and also bushy.
"Lady Anne Kidwell" is a very bright colored rose, that grows to 3 and 1/2 feet tall here, I'd keep it in a pot first, then take a bloom from it and hold it against another rose in my garden, and plant it where its' vibrant color would blend in beautifully.
My 'Victor Velidan' died and I did not lament because it had an upright growth habit more similar to a H.T.., beautiful blooms though and very fragrant in humid warm weather.
Be patient with 'Le Pactole', it grows very slowly, but is glorious once mature, the first 2 years I grew it, it responded well to pampering with monthly feeding of 10-10-10 during the growing season.

"Alliance Franco-Russe" is one of the hugest Tea class rosebushes, I'd give it 8 square feet of room, at least, in the garden, with room to breathe.
