Glamis Castle...it STINKS!

I planted Glamis Castle earlier this summer, having seen it in bloom at Heirloom Gardens. The website describes it as being "very fragrant" as well as being "endowed with a strong myrrh fragrance". Who can resist a strongly scented white rose? Well...it has now begun to bloom, and the flowers (while admittedly lovely in color and form) have either no fragrance at all, or they STINK! I am no novice when it comes to roses and rose scents, but I have never smelled a rose that reminded me of dirty socks. What I'd like to know is this: Has anyone grown this rose and had the same experience? Two friends of mine have had this problem with Glamis castle: no scent at all or flowers that stink. Do the roses gain in fragrance as the plant matures? does the stench suddenly turn into something lovely? Please advise!!!
