Wintering over new roses in raised beds

marysy

I'm a newbie to this forum, but thought I would reach out for some good advice. I purchased 5 floribundas this spring, and planted them in a 2 foot raised bed on the south side of the house, with west wind protection. They are planted in old composted horse manure (rich, black stuff over 5 years old.)

I purchased them from J&P bareroot, and truthfully I was a little anxious. They have all done well, even in our wierd ohio weather, but now I need advice on how to mulch them over the winter. Because they are in a high raised bed, do I have to do something special with them? I have heard peat moss, bark mulch and dirt. What works best?
