Planting roses in groups? Best practices?

I originally planted my Heritage Rose as a specimen plant in my perennial bed. I thought "it would be cool to have a nice rose bush". However, I've grown to love it so much that I want to plant more David Austins!

It seems recommended that it is best to plant these roses in threes. The thing is - where it is located is probably one of the best locations in my yard for roses and I'm limited for space there. I thought I'd like to plant a different rose like maybe Jude the Obscure but I'm wondering if it would be best to add 2 more Heritage and then 3 Jude the Obscure. I might be able to swing it if I can convince my wife to let me take up more of the backyard with my flowers. :-)

Any thoughts on how to plant for best impact? What has worked for you?
