Can't Make Up My Mind!

Hi all,

I just tore out a section of a bed in my garden. It was a mess. Now I have a spot for a rose.

Here's my dilemma: The bed is for orchid, blue, and clear light-violet irises. The irises come in saturated colors. At the center of the bed will be the rose. It should be a good bloomer, preferably a polyantha or a floribunda.

What color should I choose?

I lean toward pink: Bonica, Carefree Wonder, Caldwell Pink... I would really love the color of Brilliant Pink Iceberg, but I think that is just too big for the spot (5x5'). The rose needs to take some SoCal heat, too.

There is quite a bit of orchid and yellow in the bed- foxgloves, columbines, pelargoniums. How about yet another yellow rose? White?

Help. Thank you. By the way, my transplanted Bishop's Castle survived and has its first bud.

Renee
