The E-Z Flo continuously dilutes the fertilizer solution in its container as it operates. Basically, this means the only way to know how much fertilizer you're applying to your roses is to completely use up all the fertilzer in the container every time you feed a group of roses. What it amounts to is the E-Z Flo is probably more convenient than carrying a bucket, but it's more expensive and less convenient than a simple siphon device, such as the Siphonex. My E-Z Flo has been sitting on a top shelf in the garage for the past 6 years.

I 2nd the comments of the esteemed Mr. Rivers. I use mine, but just when I am being lazy, and trying to water and fertilize big sections at one time. Go with the siphonex Rosemania has.

I have a 3 gallon unit in my greenhouse hooked up to the overhead watering system, a watering wand, and my cutting misters so each time they water they get a shot of fertilizer.
I agree with the above as it's impossible to tell when/if it needs to be refilled. About once a month I empty it and refill with soluble fertilizer, usually 46-0-0 urea but I also use the cheapest generic Miracle Grow type fertilizer I can find.
The inside of the container gets coated with a residue that makes it impossible to tell when the color changes meaning all the fertilizer is used. With the 46-0-0 I use some food coloring as a coloring agent.
Glad you brought this up. It made me think and gave me an idea how to incorporate my fertilizer injector to fertilize the greenhouse plants.

I use to use one of these Siphonex things too and loved it.That was years ago.I recently found where I had put it and tried to use it again,and apparntly I have to have my faucets pointing straight down for it to work.Have new faucets outside,and one faces towards the side and the other one kind of faces OUT and my siphon thing won't work on either one of them.Not sure if some thing is wrong with my siphon thing now,after all the years it was missing,or I need my faucets all facing down.Anyone know the answer to this??

Ditto that the Siphonex is a much better way to deliver a truly EVEN concentration of fertilizer. The EZ Flo suffers from the same fundamental flaw that the hose-end Miracle-Gro feeder does, in that it delivers a more concentrated solution at the beginning and a less dilute concentration at the end of a cycle of filling it with fertilizer. I fell for the hype on the EZ Flo several years ago, realized its limitations after using it for a year, and it's now sitting in my garage. I'll send mine to you for the price of postage. All you have to do to test the even-ness of fertilizer application with either the EZ Flo or the hose-end feeder is to apply a colored fertilizer like MG and carry around a white styrofoam cup and look at the color of the solution it produces. The only drawback with the Siphonex is that it has limitations on the length of the hose you can use to deliver the fertilizer (too long and the siphon stops working), and that it can get clogged if large particulates get in your delivery bucket.

I don't remember the specifics, but I do know that I can't use the Siphonex with a 125' hose. It won't siphon when the hose is over a certain length. Which can be inconvenient, but still beats the heck out of filling buckets for each fertilizer delivery.
The dosatron is an alternative, expensive, but useful for delivering measured even minute amounts. It can deliver to hundreds of feet of hose.
