Perle d'Or: How thorny is your plant?

I recently purchased a nice 5 gal plant of Perle d'Or and am pleased to say it's putting out beautiful new plum colored shoots and buds. I plan on planting in the fall. Been reading up on this rose and am confused because some sources say the plant is thornless or nearly so, other sources like the Marin CA Rose Society say "This is like an apricot version of Cecile Brunner with thorny stems."

My plant is definitely the latter with large thorns. Am I to assume there are several clones of Perle d'Or in commerce?
