Design Dilemma home office

Need help to convert a solarium to a home office

Hi Everyone! I need help envisioning how to design a new home office in a very unique space! I am looking for advice on how to make this a professional workspace (with a desk, small storage, etc) but is very minimal and hidden when I am not working. I also need help figuring out how to keep the sun out of the office in the morning, but able to hide the drapes/window coverings completely away in the afternoon, so I can keep the room bright.

A little about the room: There are two walls of french doors that lead to internal rooms, and two walls of windows and a sunroof. The side of windows is next to the neighboring house, so they won't ever be open, and I've placed my desk in front of the back window. The room is not well insulated yet, but I already have plans to put in carpet on the floor, and seal up the side windows.

I think you are expecting a lot for such a small area. Put a light wood coloured desk with under storage. Filing cabinet(s) to the back if space. Heated tile instead of carpet. White walls & white pull/roll down cellular blind for heat efficiency when needed, attached at ceiling level so it can be raised above the window for maximum light. If affordable change chair to white leather. If the room is kept tidy it can look great when viewed and still give light to the attached spaces, otherwise curtain off. Lovely place to work in!

Congrats on the new business. I was wondering tho, have you checked your local laws and restrictions about in-house businesses? Just curious because I know of two people, one who ran a gift shop in her house and my BF who had a music store in her "music room". Eventually they ran into trouble with town authorities stating it was against the law (?) to have both a home and business combined in one structure. I'm probably not stating it correctly, but that was the idea. Both had to discontinue the businesses or have a separate building for it. My BF remodeled her garage to accommodate the music store.

@thinkdesignlive - thank you for your comments, to limit the cost we were thinking to live the garage doors and insulate on the inside only so it will limit the brick work. I really like your suggestion for the door (yes it will be on the yard for sure), it will make more sense as I cannot have only 2 bifolding doors. This is what I thought that I should contact @derdeb1234 - yes the budget is limit and we are not handy but we could increase to 10k. @tartanmeup - yes it is in GBP. @njmomma - Yes I will try to update the work. I still need to empty the garage, get rid of the spiders and insects, etc...

What if you turned the desk so the person sitting is facing out rather than looking into the mirror. Look into getting a square rug for the space. what about some floating shelves for storage on the bike wall? What is around that corner? First of all, I love the wet bar. I have one by my desk and it’s wonderful to have tea, coffee, water nearby. Your guests will also appreciate it - leave a bottle of wine, wine glasses and snacks out for them. A good quality sofa sleeper can sleep guests, provide seating, and will give you more space while you’re using the room as an office. Add side tables and lamps, it will be a nice place to read too. Place your cabinet on the far wall that doesn’t have a window and float your desk in front of it. The sofa can go on the opposite wall, near the entry. Place your keyboard under the window opposite the wet bar and roll your office chair over when you play. If you don’t need the ceiling fan, a beautiful light fixture can be swagged above your desk.
