Transplanted Bishop's Castle- prune the canes?

Hi all,

Mom had to get rid of Bishop's Castle RIGHT NOW to plant Heaven on Earth. I got Bishop's Castle :) Bad time to transplant a rose in SoCal...

It's in the ground, covered with a patio umbrella, and soaked. Then I put two inches of compost over the root zone. Should I prune it back? It has big arching canes that I would love to keep, but will they die off anyway? The leaves are very sad looking, and the flower buds are drooping.

Thanks, Renee
