Oak Wilt and Sudden Oak Death

jakejones

In Maryland and in southeastern Massachusetts, I have noticed oaks dying rapidly. These are landscape specimens about 80-100 years old. Sudden oak death appears to be still in the West, but it might be oak wilt that is killing these trees in the East, sometimes whole groups. The whole tree dies in one year or two, after being apparently healthy. I think they are some form of red oak. Comments?
