They are beautiful! Wow, many are from the 19th century, and still so vividly colored. I didn't realize that the USDA had a National Agricultural Library...what a wonderful resource.

Thanks all. Of course more pooches appeared in the photos, but tdog was so inclusive to the forum all those years. ladobe--thanks for adding the 4th butterfly net to the picture collection. At that altitude it should have been easier to swing. mike--I amused myself by considering using the word mugsshot instead of mugshots, above (like cupfuls/cupsful), but it looked too weird. tdogmom--the grid was done in MS Paint & the pix can be cropped out of the originals and pasted in using various photo editors, I use MS Photo Editor that has balancing and sharpening tools. Susan--post a new photo anytime.
