blooms with brown edges
Comments (5)Yes, if it is thrips you can see very tiny elongated insects scurrying when you look between the petals, and the petals have a scratched-up look. They like to feed on the tips of the petals when a bud is just starting to open, resulting in the brown edges. With Botrytis you get rotten brown spots and (on some varieties) pink spots. Roses can also get sunburn if it is hot with low humidity....See MoreCamellia magnoliaflora bloom has brown edges
Comments (1)Hello, jennie. Slight browning at the edges of the flower petals may be caused by sun, wind or cold temperatures. Comments (3)I believe my Hoya Bella needed higher humidity. Now that I actually got to take alook at it personally, The tips of the leaves aren't that brown or dry but they are curling downwards and seem a bit wrinkled, The new flower buds are turning brown and drying up, The buds that have already formed and flowered still remain closed tightly. So I watered and misted my hoya in hopes that I've tackled the problem. I guess I'll just have to wait and see!....See MorePlumeria flowers dropping with brown edges

You are no doubt in a dry climate so it will be hard (but not impossible) to over water during the summer. I would observe and see how it does in the new location then perhaps start to introduce to higher amounts of sunlight. Or look for afternoon shade locations to place it....See Morejbfoodie
