Thanks everyone. Glad I could share it and that you enjoyed it. I used a Gopro Hero 2. which is a very versatile little sports camera considering its small size. I want to see if the PSA would let me set it up at the clear lake plant sale to time lapse the stampede. Dave, it was about a 10 hour span. Initially i set the camera for an image every 10 seconds which resulted in 3,600 images. The first video was very smooth but also took minutes to watch so I re-rendered at about 1 every minute which resulted in a 25 second clip.

@Annie: lzerarc is right; I'll give a little more detail here. The Insuldeck panels (decking) you saw installed are not just foam - they have integrated "beams" of steel. They aren't very significant, and the gauge of steel is nothing to write home about, but it's enough to support a person walking atop about a 10-15' span; any more and you'd want bracing below. And, in fact, for the pour, all of the partition walls and then simple 2x6 Ls are used to brace every 6-8 feet along the spans. For this house there were maybe 6 Ls in addition to the partition walls; they only take a couple of minutes to knock together and a couple of minutes to mount up. Then, wire-mesh is placed over the radiant tubing, which contributes to rigidity, and rebar is placed at all edges, angling into the wall. All spacings, rebar sizes, etc. are engineered. Finally, where beams are needed, they're built out of rebar (tied together with rebar ties). Once the concrete is poured, all of that metal within gives the concrete its strength. @gaonmymind: thanks; I'll go change those video names soon.

@dBrad: start thinking first about locations. When it's time for excavation, there may be some options for where piles are pushed, and you may be able to say: "can you push a pile right here?" -- having a nice perch for your camera makes a big difference. It's usually pretty late in the project that they need to pull the mountain(s) down for backfill or final grading, though if you've got a basement digout and a story on top, like we do, be aware that the backfill after the basement level is done will take some of the material. Otherwise, consider trees, other buildings, etc., that may do the trick at getting your angle on affairs. Re: cameras: I mentioned that I recently got one of these time-lapse cameras, made specifically for the task. One thing I don't like is that it tries to bump the ISO way up as the evening comes on, so, rather than a fade-to-black you get a nice fade-to-noise. ISO noise is then made even worse when you lace the pics into a movie. I'm sure there's a way to filter it out some, but it would be nicest if the camera let you max the ISO, or something. When I was using my DSLR, I just used it in manual mode, so there was never any lighting adjustment, which wasn't always optimal when I didn't get things just right at the start of the morning and, e.g., wound up with over-exposed pictures most of the day (easy to do with an all-white ICF house). So, there are some small challenges whatever way you go.

Awesome project and interesting layout. My wife usually takes complete photos of all my construction projects however your Go-Pro idea is even better to use, perhaps 3 or even 4 devices, when I commence build of my third and hopefully last dream home, late spring or early summer this year. Keep up the good work and we look forward to more photos and videos.

I was noodling around, looking for Russian You Tube videos for design ideas, because they do some spectacular arrangements with AVs. And found that one. Most of the Russian sites are labelled in Russian, so it is hard to reference them.
That one is labelled in English.
I wonder how that was done. Usually, a photograph is taken every day at the same time, but that one looks like an actual video.

I've thought about doing time lapse, but rotating it at the same time, that takes precision!
Hmmm... now i have to check if i can spare a camera to do this ;-)

Well, Joanne, let's say i liked it enough to spend half a day trying to get my old camera software to work on windows 8, only to haul out my old XP machine, and then deciding i have to build a direct ac power supply for my camera, which requires me to 3d-print a model of its battery, so the wires and connectors go in the right place....
If it all works out, i'll spend a lot of effort and running around on a neat gadget, which can then do automatic time-lapse photos every hour for a month or more :-) I'll use it once and feel greatly accomplished ;-p
