I really don't know yet. I have 3 types of annuals to do next month. I would like to do a couple of veggies, but I haven't been able to buy any seed yet. Walmart should have their seed rack out any day. Once I hit that seed rack, who knows what, or how much more I might sow?

I turn into a kind of "Seed Rack Psycho". The seeds speak to me... I hear voices! They call me "mommy" and I just can't leave my kids there. They tell me, yes, I DO have room for them. They WANT to be in MY garden... they know my soil... they want to be in it...

I can't shut them up, and I just can't leave them for a less caring person to come around and pluck them off the rack, only to use artificial means to germinate them, or worse yet to poison them with chemicals, or strangle them in clay. Sorry folks... it's just not in me!

Start peppers and tomatoes indoors
Wintersow duplicates of tomatoes (still experimenting)

Spring sow several kinds of basil
Direct sow carrots

Very, very last (May):

Cukes, canteloupes, and beans

I'm feeling woefully behind this year, which is ironic because I started about two weeks earlier than usual this year!

I'm done with perennials. I've promised to give up wintersowing for Lent.LOL! That works out perfectly because the weather won't be warm enough for annuals until after Easter anyway. Right now I'm thinking of looking at my calendar and setting aside weekends and evenings for planting out. I need to set some serious timelines/goals or I'll never get everything planted out. I'm NOT buying any new seeds. I know we all laugh about this, but I really CAN'T afford (time wise) to expand my gardening plans for this year. I will be firm!

I'm done with perennials. I've started the annuals - petunias and nicotiana. I've planted out 12 containers and have 173 more to do, not counting the annuals. I have a lot fewer annuals than I expected. I really want to make this a low maintenance garden that blooms on its own in 3-5 years. Also adding in a lot of annual reseeders.

I've got my pepper seeds germinating in the basement and some hardwood cuttings to root and those initial (6) half-gallon jugs with some seeds on the deck. All my jug "loot" has been cleaned, cut, drilled and filled with mix. Now I'm just hanging around the mailbox looking for my forum seeds so I can WS!

(Y'know, the mailman is starting to look at me just like the cop did ... hmmmm.) ;-)

I should be done Wsing this afternoon. Not sowing as many perennials as I did in the previous 3 years. it's going to be a divide and finish 3 beds year for the back bone perennials.
I started some German mater seed I saved from last year in the window mini greenhouse for encouragment last week.

Today I also want to get my propagation bed going in the basement for the peppers and eggplants.
Need to get those impatiens going. While I am down in the basement I might as well go thru the bulbs and dahlias to see what survived

Ratibida Columnifera Mexican Hats, Heuchera Coral Bells, Money Plant, Geranium hardy mix. Being new to this, I also ws tomatoes (which I thought Trudi said you could) and peppers and I used all my seeds to boot! I also mistakenly, WS marigold, four o'clocks and zinnia. I guess that is how you learn.

Clarejoe, yes, you can absolutely WS tomatoes, but you are in zone 7 and have a longer growing than Busylizzy and me, so that's why we may start some indoors. I sowed some both ways last year, and I think starting indoors is helpful if you have tomatoes that have long DTM (days to maturity).

With your marigolds and zinnias, just keep an eye on them after they sprout, and protect them from frost, and they'll be fine.

Well I finished my perennials earlier this month. I also did poppies and dianthus. I'm waiting for march to start HA's and April for the rest.
Oh and I started some lettuce too.
Inside on the window sill I have baby hosta growing, a few more added recently not up yet and some coleous yet to sprout.
So around 125 containers done, and about two hundred yet to go.

Zone 4/5 Waiting on more RR seeds to ws. I have done my perr seeds so far...Waiting till it gets warmer to start the others... I have stuff going in the gh too. Come on spring...It snowed all day here yesterday. I am tired of it...Lol Barb

251 perennials done 100 more to go. I don't even want to think about how many anuuals I have to sow. The amount of work involved is too depressing!

Well, I'd like to say that I am done with the perennials but every time I do, I find more seeds soooo...
I'm hoping to get a big chunk of annuals done soon (have about 175 conatiners "planned" for those. I'm out of containers for now...
Inside I have cup and saucer vine, stevia, datura, and hyacinth bean sprouts that I'm trying to rid of white nats (flies). Finally bit the bullet and bought some spray. All is clear... for now.
I also have rooted cuttings: hummingbird plant, wandering jew, and brugs. There's also a plumeria overwintering in the sunroom that I can't wait to get outdoors and in the sun!
Bed prep is my focus now, I am amending soil on half of the perimeter of my backyard. I've raked, layed cardboard, put on a layer of leaves, and now I'm working on the compost layer. Lots to do to prepare for coming sprouts!
Oh and I've planted out a few things in the beds near the house. Those little sprouts are taking some abuse with our fluctuating temps but they are troopers and look no worse for the wear. BTW, the containers that I emptied to plant out have already been refilled. Now that's a sign of addiction, right?

in over my head, for sure. Looks like I will be gifting plants for the rest of the year. Saves me from having to buy presents, I guess.

I have done 177 jugs/containers of perennials and they are tucked away in a new spot in the yard this year, on 4 shelving units.

With the deck clear I am going to attempt to use my pop up "Bloom house" for annuals in flats/open containers in the spring (probably start about 4/15. I've just begun making labels for those annuals, to be ready in advance, and it looks like I could use about 10 of these pop up things. I have soooo many annual seeds I want to sow. When out yesterday and got some plastic shelving units for the bloom house to optimize space in there. Its sort of igloo shaped, 8' x 8' by 6' tall.

Got a really late start this year (beginning of Feb.) but am pretty much caught up on perennials and half hardy annuals. In a week or two I plan to go full tilt on what annuals I plan to do. My gardens are getting pretty well established and this year will be a dividing year from past years wintersowing and I have a really good bunch of annuals that are established reseeders for me. What I am concentrating on now are new varieties and perennials that require a little more skilled germination and babying......

I 'thought' I was in the Feb Lull, but then found the grocery bag of 'leftover seeds' that I decided I was going to sow for the "wild slope." We're talking 1/3 of a paper grocery bag full. So I started those yesterday. Terribly behind if you count those, but 'on schedule' if I don't.

I don't start anything indoors, so nothing to do there other than keep my coleus cuttings alive.

Still to do: an entire grocery bag full of annuals- 2 large manilla envies of just Zinnias & Marigolds with the rest of the bag filled with "this & that."

Mid-March through Mid-April will be a very busy WS month. I don't know where I'm going to put the containers...I've got about 125 out already, and that's not nearly 1/3 of what I want to get out. DH says "not in the driveway!" Must get creative.

P.S. For Newbies- NARGS is North American Garden Society and APS- American Primrose society. There are many societies available for those who are nuts about certain types of flowers or plant/seeds in general. You can check out present seed exchanges lists for what kinds of seeds you can get. Very worthy organizations to support.

What have I done? My son has been begging to sow seeds for eggplant. Hubs took him to the store to buy poker chips and they ended up at Walgreens. They came home with poker chips and seeds for ... now keep in mind this kid is 14... spinach, broccoli, eggplant, tomatoes, cucumbers, and onions. What kid want spinach and broccoli?

Now where the heck am I going plant out all that???

Greengardener, I'm right there with you ... nothing sown yet this year; still hoping to get some done, though.

However, a few weeks ago I gave a workshop at the park where I work and 17 people made their containers and sowed their seeds. Today I did a quick presentation to about 40 fellow Master Gardeners at our Roundtable, some of whom can't wait to get home and get started. Within a few weeks, I'll probably do another workshop at the park for 7-8 Wolf Cub Scouts working on their World Conservation Badge (I'll be sure to have some seeds of native plants on hand and briefly discuss why it's good to plant those).

One of the MG's at the Roundtable was at my January workshop and stopped by to tell me her parsley is up already. I'm so pleased to hear it! You give a workshop like that and they all take their seeds home ... and they've all been on my mind since, wondering how they're doing.

At least I have one milk jug prepared :-) the one I used as a demo in my talk today ... that's a start, anyway.
