Fast-growing fruit tree for kids to grow
Comments (2)Maybe you should try the fruit and orchard forum. I don't know of any tree that is that fast to go to fruit, it takes at least a few years. Maybe some kind of berry like a strawberry? What about peppers or cherry tomatoes or beans? See if they have some better ideas over there. Also there are a few other edible type forums here you might scan through. Maybe you could call a company like Pinetree Seeds or Johnny's and see if they can recommend something. Also, some of these seed companies have days to harvest in their catalog. Radishes and lettuce grow very fast but I'm not sure how much kids will like a radish. At least they are colorful. There are colorful lettuces too. I grew crabapples with my kids once. We germinated the seeds in the refrigerator in a moist towel placed in a ziplock. It took 5 months just for the roots to show. After that, they only grow a few inches a year until they take. Here is a link that might be useful: fruit and orchard forum...See MoreAnyone have experience with fast-growing-trees.com?
Comments (32)I recently ordered from them, not knowing my order would come from China. The only tracking number they could provide was the one from China Post. I knew for a fact that these deliveries get transferred to USPS. Never got one from USPS. Tracked the shipment via Track17. Until one day, it said it was delivered, but I did not receive anything. Communicated the problem and they insisted that it was delivered to the right address, that neighbors might have received it. My neighbors know me and they'd surely give me the misdelivered item, which has happened in the past. We went back and forth on the refund. Finally settled on 50% refund. The first and the last order from them. Be warned. Sounds more like a scam now to me....See MoreOkrung Mango Tree--how fast do these trees grow?
Comments (0)We planted an okrung mango tree last October that is a little less than 6 feet in height. I was curious to know how fast these trees grow provided that they are healthy. Back in October, the nursery where I bought the tree informed me that I should see a significant growth in a year. I wanted to see how accurate this is. Thank you in advance for any information....See MoreFast growing, clean trees
Comments (26)If the squirrel-planted ones that pop up in my garden are any example, I'd rate them as very fast growers when young but moderating a bit as they age - 13-24 inches annually. This is not one I'd plant in a horse pasture, though, as consumption of any part of the tree can be harmful to horses, causing tremors and convulsions as well as gastric upset....See Morecorkball
