Love soaker hoses! You do need to put more hose length at the end of your row of plants---I get enough hose to loop it back. 50' is definitely the max length to use in my experience. Put them in immediately when you plant, +/- make big loops around the plant bases, cover with mulch. If they're exposed to sun they degrade faster. Check them well each spring. One of my beds was doing poorly this year; turns out the hose had a crack and all the water was dumping in one spot. They do last a few years though, if you take good care of them. I take off the washer that comes with them and put on a regular washer to get the job done quicker. mxracer---great tip! Thanks! Ann

pka, awhile ago in the threads I talked about a product I was testing, called Messenger that I foliar fed all my citrus and all my other plants inside and out.Which by the way I still do. Could this have been what you were possibly thinking about? I have not read in any of the threads that Miracid was was foliar fed, that I can recall. So now I guess if your insistant on foliar feeding once in awhile,which is also benificial...then your going to have to use something else.Miracid is to be applied to the soil.And before you use this product,you should test your soil for acidity.You surely have gone the extra mile buying & trying,but to NO avil but I applaud you for this.***Suzanne

You can't- I have a backpack sprayer I paid $175 for that is designed to spray "wettable powders" it's a SPO msde by SP-Syetems (name brand) sprayer. I use it for my apple/pear orchard. It has a grinder/agitator in it to allow the powder to mix and be sprayed. 150psi. It sells for about $200 now You need to buy luquid chemicals, not powders

I would advise against using a hose end sprayer for Roundup. Not only is it difficult to get a precise ratio of concentrate to water and difficult to aim carefully, it is major overkill for applying this herbicide. Only a very small amount of spray material is needed on weed leaf surfaces to work. A hose end sprayer is best suited for materials that don't need precise percentages and need to be applied through a heavy drenching spray.
