To apply the Miracid, I water my citrus real well to where the water is draining out of the bottom. Then I mix per directions on the box (1) Tablespoon into a gallon of water. Mix this well and pour on & around the citrus's soil.All of my citrus 's are potted,and they require to be more acidic.I also do a soil check yearly.If your citrus are in-ground, you might want to do a soil check before hand.And as you say...fish emulsion does dilute well so you can use your sprayer.I also spray fish emulsion yearly. I could have sworn I read people on here were foliar feeding with the Miracid. What sprayer they used is a mystery to me though.

pka, you can foliar feed just about anything, alot of people do feed Miricle grow foliar.And spray fish emulsion also.But the need for the Miracid is to treat the soil,to make it more acidic.***Suzanne

Ok the Miracid is for the soil. But what sprayer can you use miracle gro crystals in? A typical hose-end sprayer will clog or at least it seems to with me. Fish Emulsion while thicker than diluted miracle gro still sprays no problem...

Pepperz, don't know if this will help or not, but HD sells watering wands..the holes are fairly large..I'm sure any type of feritlizer will work with it..Toni

pka, I wish I could tell you...I don't use miricle grow crystals.Have you tried diluting the crystals in warm or hot water for sometime,then putting it into your sprayer?Maybe letting it sit even over night?Or take Toni's advise and go to Home Depot and see for yourself it this will work for you.***Suzanne

I bought 2 watering wands last week and took them back. The watering wands connect to the hose so there is no tank for chemicals.

Before anyone asks, yes I bought one of these Expert (Walmart version called EXPERT (looks exactly like this Schultz model)) It did mention on the package not to use a water wand with a shut off valve if it is turned off. I had it on and it exploded from the pressure still. Took that back as well.

pka, awhile ago in the threads I talked about a product I was testing, called Messenger that I foliar fed all my citrus and all my other plants inside and out.Which by the way I still do. Could this have been what you were possibly thinking about? I have not read in any of the threads that Miracid was was foliar fed, that I can recall. So now I guess if your insistant on foliar feeding once in awhile,which is also benificial...then your going to have to use something else.Miracid is to be applied to the soil.And before you use this product,you should test your soil for acidity.You surely have gone the extra mile buying & trying,but to NO avil but I applaud you for this.***Suzanne

Well with all the reading on the Citrus forum, Rose forum, rose propogation, organic rose, organic gardening, soil compost and vermiposting forums, I probably misread the Miracid needing to be applied to the roots only.

Still I do like the practice of foliar feeding Epsom salts ot my plants and Im sure it is still good for Citrus. These crystals even when well mixed don't seem to work in these Gilmour sprayers. Strange as I can add a teaspoon of epsom salt directly to a 32 ounce spray bottle and hand spray my small potted plants and that sprayer never gets clogged or even my RLFLOW compression sprayer and it never gets clogged with Miracle Gro or Epsom Salt...
