Oak from acorn

I've done some reading on the internet and I figured the easiest way to get answers was to post in forums. I'm looking to plant several hundred (close to 1000) trees over the next few years around the 50+ (open) acre property I'm in the proscess of buying. There are several 100+ year old oaks on the property line. I've read about just preparing the site and throwing a few good acorns in and waiting. There are more squirrels around here than I can count so I don't know if any trees started that way would make it. I was thinking of trying to use more of a reforestation approach since I want to plant so many trees so fast. I found these - http://stuewe.com/products/hiko.html . Anyone have a better idea than using these, lots peat, lots of acorns, a good Deere tiller attachment and lots of mulch for large scale oak plantings?
