As I was taking the garbage can to the curb this evening, I glanced at my front rose bed (same exposure as yours) and nearly fell over at Queen Elizabeth, who has been popping out blooms for a month but is now suddenly in full flush. Breathtaking. She is very tall, narrow, but not skinny, and will continue producing until winter. An HT, even a grandiflora, But she makes a very fine statement!!!

Many Teas will grow tall(most of them), but in our 6B situation it will take several years to gain size. Every winter they will have considerable dieback, so initial increase in size in first couple years will be almost non existent, but then they will eventually gain their size, just need to be patient. It can take 4-5 years. Another point you can consider is that they are disease esistant in the south, but not here. Most probably you will need to spray to keep leaves on. W/o leaves they will be weak and not survive our winters.

Thank you all for your great information. All the roses you mentioned look lovely. It's good to know that teas would need spraying in my climate. Unfortunately, spraying is not an option due to DH allergies. I will keep on looking (perhaps something like the Austin rose L.D. Braithwaite would work, if it would grow tall and wide enough). I agree that ARE has great roses; I got a Theresa Bugnet and Bloomfield Abundance from them last year, and they were huge (for an own-root).

Lois, LDB needed spraying for my friend here in east central NJ.

Teas aren't recommended for zone 6. They really are Southern Ladies as a cold winter can cut them back to the ground. A really cold winter like what we get once every ten years will kill them outright. One that does seem to like our area is LADY HILLINGDON. Fully hardy in zone 6b if you locate it against a south or west facing wall. Hopefully Olga will post some pics because her specimen is truly stunning.

There are probably several Buck roses that would fit your requirements. I don't grow that many because there aren't many that seem to be both hardy and disease resistant here. However, most of the less hardy ones should be fine for you.

Ask about Fellemberg, which has vibrant deep pink to pinkred blooms.
I also think Nur Mahal would be charming.
Nachidoches Noisette is also stunningly beautiful.
And these three have had little 'curl up and die' syndrom after cold winters and the occassional colder spring.)
But these won't give continuous bloom. (But then continous bloom tends to get taken for granted, KnockOut, cough, cough).

Another to consider would be Ballerina, which reblooms well and whose small red orange hips would make for fall and winter interest as well.

The teas didn't work for me, but there's a noisette called Champney's Pink Cluster that has survived years now, is big, tall, and bushy - and fragrant and healthy, too. Blooms nearly constantly. You might consider it. I don't spray, either, btw.

Mrs. B.R. Cant has worked for me in my cold-end-of-7A Long Island garden. It is almost 6 feet tall, is among the first roses to bloom, and does great (virtually no black spot) in my no-spray garden. It has been cruising along probably 6 years or so without any significant winter dieback. As you can see, I am very happy with her!

Oh my, Mrs B.R. Cant looks like what I was hoping to find. Rogue Valley Roses even said it might be hardy to zone 6, so perhaps it will be happy in my probably-zone-7 microclimate.

Lois--I live in Bucks County and I don't have luck with tea roses however I do have Lafter which is a Hybrid Tea and it gets very tall in my no-spray garden---I can barely reach the top to cut the blooms and I'm 5ft. 9 in. LOL
Carefree Beauty --a Buck rose---also gets tall and very disease resistant
