Thanks everyone! All of these are in light shade with sun part of the day. I have some columbines planted in my backyard, which is shadier, and they are not blooming yet. I think columbines can tolerate a lot of sun as long as they get some water when they are small. I will be happy to share seeds with everyone next year. But keep in mind that columbines that are open pollinated will not come true, and these are all in my front yard. I was actually surprised that the Black and Blue Barlows look like the real thing. I think the other two are a little off - the Origami Red looks too pale and the "Rocky Mountain" isn't blue, it is lavender. I have a lot of columbine babies to plant out this year, too. Looks a bit like silene, aka German Catchfly, but I could be wrong. Doesn't look like any weed I know. Give it a chance to flower. (I'm doing that right now with some unknowns, wintersown last year, just so I can figure out what they are!)

Fun thread. Cute kids and dogs. My youngest is 38. Just lost my cat Lucy in August of 2005 at age 21 and Tasha about age 16 April 25 of this year. This one I felt sorry for and made friends with him. He only seems to trust me, and sneaks up on me when I'm working outside and plops in the dirt near me, doesn't feel threatened by my gardening tools (or camera lol). I thought he was gone for good as he disappeared for a whole week when Tasha died, but she was an indoor cat and didn't like him. I put away his bowl and the food out for the birds. Then there he was again. He's like that. He looks more mature now, he must have been a young cat that summer, homeless, or it is possible he has another home, but I rather doubt it. This photo was taken in August of 2006. When it got cold I scooped him up and made him come in, so he does stay in more when the weather is bad. I named him Sparky and got him his shots.
