Riding Lawn Mower Problem - Dies when PTO engaged
Comments (24)Electrical problem with the Rectifier. Lost it's internal ground and can not "tell" the alternator to produce the amps needed to operate much more than the head lights. Simply run a wire from one of the screws that hold the rectifier to the engine block and ground the other end to the frame. Problem solved. Common problem with Command and Courage engines. I have saw countless people waste hundreds of dollars trying fix this very problem when all is needed is a piece of 14 Ga wire....See MoreMower surges when blades engaged
Comments (19)Well, I misspoke. There are only 5 different governor springs for that model. When you bent the tab, you decreased the tension on the spring. In normal operation, as the engine reaches governed speed, the spring tension increases to a point that the engine can't over ride it because of the springs "tension", and it kind of "hits a wall" as to further "stretch". Think of bouncing a ball against a wall. It hit's the wall and bounces back. Hold it against the wall, and it's "stable". "If my engine type is 0121, shouldn't I get that spring?" THAT SPRING is part (or all???)of what MADE your engine a type 0121! You already have it! If you look at the IPL, you'll see different type#'s have different springs because they are governed to different RPM's!...See MoreCraftman mower, dies when I release clutch or engage blades
Comments (1)The schematic only shows 2 Black wires to the seat switch,. Tying them together WILL prevent spark. Look at the schematic in your owners manual. Anything that grounds the M terminal of the key switch kills spark. IF you don;t have an OM, click the link. Here is a link that might be useful: Owners Manual...See MoreHusqvarna riding mower blade engagement sound
Comments (3)When I engage the blades, they spin but you would have no idea they are on unless by looking at the blades. In the past, you could hear the difference when it was engaged and not engaged. When I cut the grass, it leaves behind quite a bit of uncut strands of grass. Nowhere near as consistent as in the past. The belt seems to be loose to me but not sure how to tell if it is supposed to be like that or not....See Morercmoser
