Photos of new blooming AV's - some from seed

I couldn't resist... My babies have bloomed for the first time! a couple are rescues but the mini's are from seed. Fred thank you for your advise on how to grow them. It's so much fun!!! I have 2 Plumies from seed and now 6 Adenium's.

I side with Dora. You are lost, start thinking about purchashing a shelving unit with lights ;-)). And another one, and another one, call us when you pass the mark of 1500 plants...

I loved your pink bloomed one with "feathering" or "veining" on the blossoms.

A couple of suggestions.

get yourself a tabletop tripod - I think it is $9.99 in Best Buy - and check if your camera has a macro option. Some lucky people do not have trembling hands... I do - so I use tripod, the second thing - do not use the camera flash - it bleaches the pic. It is so much better if you choose a time with a good natural light from outside.

Second suggestion - I would chuck the plant that is sitting in a double ceramic pot. It has so many spots - it can be all water damage - or it can be virus. Which is not curable and can be contagious.

Thanks everyone for the responses! Especially the ID. I don't think I will ever become a collector or showgrower, I'll be happy if I can keep these plants alive, blooming and pest free. I think I will take the advice on keeping the blooms until they die and then giving them all a tepid bath, removing the suckers and repotting in my 1:1 potting mix/perlite. I had a lot of fun doing a division for a plant I got from OSH and ended up getting 5 suckers plus the main plant. It's amazing how much better the original plant is looking after surgery. I really adore the rosebud looking ones, but for some reason, those were in the worst condition. There are small brown spots on a lot of the leaves that looks like mite damage (I've pinched off most of the damaged leaves) and today, I think I saw a bug crawling in the dirt!! Also definitely killed a small black flying bug but I couldn't identify it or tell if it's a pest infestation. Will definitely allow it to bloom and then take care of any pest problems. It's on a desk by itself so hopefully any pests will be contained. I am so terrified of getting any sort of infestation, I think I am mentally psyching myself out more than anything. I think my hypochondriac tendencies are transferring to my plants but I've read so many posts about INVS, thrips, mites, mealybugs... sounds like a nightmare! I have been looking for spilled pollen on all the blooms but haven't found anything yet. I'll have to keep a close eye on all of them but I'm almost excited for them to stop blooming so I can groom them!! One more question, any issues with keeping african violets in the bedroom? Not directly next to the bed but on a bookcase against a wall, any chance pests will harm people?

Thank you. It is tithonia on top and no I didn't trade with you this year. This was my first year so I will be collecting seeds and hopefully doing some trades. That sunflower came from a seed pack of "sunflower cuttings" mix. I love it too!

Thank you,Thank you,kathy, for the gorgeous photo of the Daylily.Its beautiful,I love that eye and the edging around the peddles.I will be on the look out for this one too.Thank you,,More please, :) The roses are gorgeous too,Love Marilyn Monroe,Never tire os looking at this one,and I don't have a single bloom on mine right now.Yout Hot Cocoa holds up in the heat,and mine wilts bad in it,and looks like a Burnt dishrag in a few hrs.And Maggie is great,She don't mind the heat at all,but mine has very few leaves on it right now.It has rained and rained and then hot,and BS has got them all.The leaves has turned yellow and fell off.The Hibiscus is so pretty,too.I use to have about 15 of them in all colors,but got tired of trying to find places to put them in the winter,and got rid of them.Now I want Just Joey,hes gorgeous. Irina and Dora,
I have 2 shelving units, 10 2-bulb light, and over 200 violets now.

Irina, I will use my tripod when I find it. I know I have one here somewhere... I will turn the flash off and take new photos. I hope they will be better. the plant in the double pot was nipped by the cold. It's recovering well but the outer leaves are burnt a bit.

I have the tiniest blooms on "Double Black Cherry"!! It is the cutest thing I have seen in a bloom.

HI,
The bloom on pics 6,7 and 10 looked most interesting. The others seemed pretty common to me.
Only problem I have with unnamed plants is that they can't be entered into an AVSA class collection at a show.
