Planning a tiny growing trial

Last fall I rooted 4-5 cuttings of Cardinal Hume, and I've been wondering what I was going to do with them. Now I think I will use them as the basis for a growth trial. They are all probably about ready for me to transplant into gallon pots, and so I think I'd like to see what difference a couple of different feeding regimens make.

I'm thinking they will all go into the same Potting Soil (Gardner and Bloome is what I have here). Costco is close, however, and I could get some of that Miracle Grow Moisture Control if anyone thinks I should.

What I have available for feeding includes Fish Emulsion, Compost, 14-14-14, and a bag of alfalfa pellets. I'm thinking I should try one with nothing added, one with a combination of the fish emulsion (1/2 strength weekly) and one dose of the 14-14-14 timed release, and one with alfalfa pellets and compost.

Help me to plan this out if you would. I'm going to trot outside right now and see how many of these guys are really viable as of today.

Susan
