Can anyone tell me anything about this old lamp
Comments (3)Oh my gosh! I remember that style. I don't know if its "in" again yet. Everything seems to come back eventually. Check ebay for "60's lamp" "70's lamp" to see if you find similar and what they are selling for. If they are not of any great value as they are, I would paint them turquoise, put an ivory wash over just leaving some turquoise peeking through, and painting the candle part so it doesn't look dirty. And a nice fresh ivory shade. Or whatever! Let us know what you do. Kathy...See MoreWollerton Old Hall
Comments (30)prettypetals, What a beautiful bouquet. I fell in love with this rose at a local nursery so of course she went home with me. I think she smells luscious. The flowers seem to last forever. It's been very cool here this spring so that might be the reason. Some commented that she fades to a dirty cream but mine, so far, are gorgeous. Totoro, great to hear she's shade tolerant since my whole yard gets no more than 5 1/2 hours morning/early afternoon light. If i get half the blooms as you all get I'll be thrilled. sharon...See MoreWollerton Old Hall rose as a shrub
Comments (4)Wollerton Old Hall is registered as a shrub in England. Many of Austin's roses grow as a shrub in Britain and then when they cross the ocean, go wild. Sort of like a tourist visiting a warm climate. I see no reason why you can't grow it as a shrub. Prune it down hard in the spring and also keep your clippers handy in the summer. And if a cane decides to act like a climber, just whack it down. Summer pruning is the secret to keeping a vigorous rose under control....See MoreWhat can you tell me about this old chair?
Comments (6)If you look at the bottom where the front chair legs are attached you will see smears that appear to outline a different type of leg. The picture of the area where the back attaches to the seat next to that is a small round area that is lighter than the rest. Both indications of a piece that has been reworked. If you look closely at it you will probably find other "Oddities"....See Morecaldonbeck
