Red Flag Fire Warning/High to Extreme Fire Danger
Comments (2)We thought we would catch some of that south wind, and rode the bus to Norman, got on our bikes and rode back to the State Capitol. The real wind didn't pick up till we were back in OKC. I took this picture, when we got back to the SC....See MoreFire glass for fire pits?
Comments (17)We did consider a blue to go with our pool tile and might have gone that route if the granite had any blue or the right greys in it. I found the fire pit online but had to order through a dealer. The guy there showed us the stock glass, but also larger pieces. Some are larger crumbles and others look like small ice cubes or gems. I think he called one of them liquid ice -- the name because of how it reflects the light and looks melted from the fire. He said some people us one color for most of the glass and then scatter some of a different color on top or use some clear or colored larger pieces to catch the light on top. If I recall correctly, our pit has a dish that is about 24 inches wide and not too deep. The glass just covers the burner and I think we needed 80 lbs of glass. The glass runs several dollars a pound, so it is easy enough to change out, but it may not be cheap -- especially if your contractor is building a large brick pit. I assume he will insert a pan for the burner and make it more shallow? You may want to ask about that....See MoreGigantic "fire stick/sticks on fire" plant...help
Comments (11)You defiantly want to isolate it away from the children and keep them at a safe distance regardless of understanding , use a lot of self protection to include: long sleeves, long rubber gloves, face mask, goggles and what ever else you can think of. (This one has a reputation messing people up real fast for a painfully long time. Generally they have been known to spray a fine sap if treated suddenly including the simple moving of the pot at the wrong time of day is something to be aware of. Misting the planned cut areas prior and as you cut will help slow down the sap flow.Continue to mist the sap flow to a stop helping to keep it safer and less exposure of toxic sap for you to do the deed. Oddly enough it wont stop the cat from spraying chances are better it wont. Not able to confirm by a more informative link but inner sap (and it's coloring) while moving may attract acute visioned animals such as a nocturnal cat. ' fire sticks' is one of the highest levels in toxicity at level three toxic meaning it has several ways to defend it's self...See MoreDoes Little Quick Fire bloom later than Quick Fire?
Comments (5)Thanks, everyone, for your helpful response! popmama, thanks for the diagram! I guess LQF is still one of the earlier ones, though not as early as QF! Now, it also shows Bobo being one of the earlier ones too! That is certainly NOT my experience! LOL! I am curious how the non-Proven Winner ones do in terms of bloom time? Which are the earliest blooming ones that are not sold under PW? Thanks again!...See MoreMolineux
