I cant speak for pots and relocation but when I got my curry leaf plant from market it had light green to yellow leaves. I planted it into the ground and it started growing but leaf colored amused me as it was still not dark green. Then I nuked it with rose fertilizer, 12-8-10 and that did the trick. green leaves need nitrogen and that did the trick for me and not only it went into growth spurt, it turned very dark green and is now looking very happy!

This may be a bit late to help your plant, but I have to ask what have you been doing to take care of this plant? Leaf drop is indicative of a root problem and root problems can be caused by many factor - like transplant shock (caused during transplant), or was it overwatered and it drowned out the roots, or was there a period of non-watering and caused the roots to shriver, or did you fertilize which is a no-no shortly after a transplant or during winter. I'm not sure what you meant by everytime you moved it to sunlight - It should have steady access to light. MOist but not overly moist earth. Scratch the bark off the main trunk and if you still see a lively green colour, there's hope for this plant. If not, it's too late. Ianna

Thanks to everyone on this list for the info. I've been looking for a year, including two failed attempts at an online plant order and online seeds. Yesterday, I purchased one from this nice lady out by Tracy (Mountain House, to be exact). She has a listing on Craigslist at this URL: https://stockton.craigslist.org/grd/d/curry-plants/7287455404.html. Huge number of plants - 400+? Many different sizes, including up to 6ft tall. All looked very healthy. And she has been doing this mostly by word of mouth, so I sense it will all work out positively. BTW, I called Regan's and probably about 30 other nurseries, including all of them on the Suncrest Nurseries list - nada...So was really grateful to find this craigslist listing. I'd love to hear if both of your plants revived themselves over the summer. I received a miserable-looking little curry leaf plant in February that had lost all its leaves at a very brief gust of cold air, and on arrival had a miserable broken dead tap root growing horizontally out of the bottom of the pot. But I put it in a larger pot, kept it in a warm sunny window, and soon enough new leaves sprouted, and by autumn it was growing big, and thriving. I want to hear about your kari patta plants to give me hope.
