Rural King in Monticello, IN has "Livingston Seed Co." seeds. Says since 1850...hope seeds not THAT old. Lots of veggies, flowers, herbs.

I've used Livingston, worked great. Cheap here, too. (They're based somewhere close, I think Columbus).There's a local nursery that carries them.

Livingston is across the street from the Lenox shopping center off Kinnear almost on campus - but they only sell to retail no shop or sales at the warehouse.

I hate to go into the Kmarts in Columbus (talk about let go and not cared about UCK!) but I want Martha Stewart seeds she has some great vegs and flowers I don't see anywhere else..... and of course the Kmarts here do not have seeds out yet..... last year they were putting them out (and they didn't have Martha) in March....

Also, I spoke with an employee at the local Dollar Tree recently. Mid February is when they are expecting to have the 10 cent seeds!

Humm, our Dollar Tree NEVER has seeds and our Big Lot's didn't last year!

Stopped at a Kmart today to see pricing on shelving units (I have so many jugs I've got no choice but vertical storage out there) and wandered over to both the Burpee and Martha Stewart seed displays. Pretty good deals (the 40% off list prices seems to be a permenant part of the display) so I picked up another dozen packs of seed I DO NOT NEED. But who can walk away from "White eyed Susan vine" and yummy colored nasties (peachy toned)???

Was in Walmart to get bird seed & suet. Asked where the seed racks were...nada, nothing, zilch. I just wanted a few basics. Hate to drive all the way to a store just for one or two things and if you call ahead they think you're nuts for asking.

Nan, those peachy toned Nasturtiums are on the front cover of Select Seeds catalog. They're beautiful!

I guess I'll have to trek to the nearest Lowe's but I KNOW I won't get out of there with only seeds. I still need dormant rose treatment and some fresh vermiculite for covering small seeds that call for it. So hard to walk through garden aisles without impulse buying...but I do need more rabbit fencing and posts which disappear once it warms up so might break down and get some now. Also need some bricks for stepping stones so I don't compact my improving soil.

The whining and yelling around here about containers and "dirt" is already fraying my nerves when this should be relaxing and enjoyable!

The need for more seed is calling even though I didn't even use up last year's leftovers.

I was amazed to go into several different lowes and hd's and find that they had burpee seeds for a fraction of the cost I spent ordering online. Not nearly as many varieties, and not much of what I actually ordered from them but Every wally world, lowes, hd, taylors I've been in quite a few all have had seeds for weeks.

I buy 99% of my seeds from catalogs. I buy from Johnny's, Fedco, Plants of Distinction and Parks. I buy as little as possible from the big box stores because IMO they have ruined my town. But, politics aside, most of my local nurseries and locally owned discount dept store have their seeds all out now.

WM in Concord, NH finally got theirs in last week. A decent looking display, too.
Agway on 106 in Concord also got the rest of their T&M seeds in. So they have a pretty good selection now of lots of brands.

Rite Aid in Dover has a tiny display of 'basics' for 20-cents each. Not a lot of choice, but worth the 20-cents for a cheap 'fix.' LOL.

I went to Walgreen and got the 3 for $1! I forgot about the part with the coupon! I stocked up on some things that I like such as extra cosmos, a beautiful sunflower mix, mixed color bachelor buttons! Woo hoo! Yeah... needed them like a hole in the head.

KMart has a big display of Burpee & Martha Stewart seeds now in their garden center. They have the multi-packs too. 40% off I think.

I ended up buying MS everlasting strawflower mix & gaillarda burgundy.

Hell I haven't seen a single seed display yet! I need to get to Walgreens asap!! That coupon expires on the 28th and I plan on using a couple!

The dollar store nearby has 10 seed packs for a $1.

I went to Walgreen's last night and the seeds were pretty picked through, but the Dollar Tree has them 4/$1, so that's not too bad. Not very good selection, but whaddya want?

Kuhlman's Garden Centre in Edmonton has a really good selection of seeds. They have seeds from several vendors, local and otherwise. Prices range from dirt cheap (the ones I buy) to expensive for the current favourites. I'm sure the other local garden centres have seeds available and the grocery stores have their displays up.

In the Buffalo Grove, Wheeling area of Illinois, Walmart at Route 83 and Lake-Cook has their seed rack up. They had Burpee and some others, but they had American Seed for 20 cents, just the garden standards, but for 20 cents... I had to buy just a few!!

The Walgreens on Buffalo Grove Road and Lake-Cook has their seed out too.

That is great to hear! I went to a few Wal-Mart's and all they have is Burpee Seeds. I was hoping they would put our the American Seeds and their own seed as well!

I can't wait to raid that display!

Now to find an excuse to go to Wal-Mart.....

At the Walmart in Wheeling, they have the American seed on the endcap of the seed isle. You have to go around the corner to find it.
